Meaning: Man has a right to do a work and not crave for the result of the work done

by him It is the Lord who judges and gives the suitable result to the work done by the

man. Normally we tend to accept the result of the work if the result is good and if it

is not good we say that it is God who did this work. This is not correct.

Story: Value: Right action sub value: Loyalty to dutyIn good olden days electric street lighting was available in a few big cities

only. Towns were dependant on kerosene lamps. In some of the big towns each

street had three or four oil lamps set on a pole with glass chimneys. At about 6 P.M

some of the municipal laborers used to clean glass chimney, pour oil and light the

lamps.Ramcharan was one of the lamplighter of a municipality who did his duty

cheerfully and scrupulously. He was punctual and systematic in his work. He used

come on time to his duty place , clean the chimney, pour oil and light the lamp

singing the glory of the Lord “Janaki jivan Ram karunga thumhara kaam”It went on

for several years. One fine day the concerned municipal authorities received the

information that the lamps lit by Ramcharan shone brightly all through the night

where as the lamps lit by other workers were dim and many of them burnt for a part

of the night though all the lamp lighters were given the same oil, same quantity and

same type of wicks and all were given the same remuneration. They wanted to find

out what made the difference . After a thorough investigation, they came to conclusion

that Ramacharan did his duty as an offering to God where as the others did as amatter of routine work and without any dedication. Ramcharan received the reward

for his Good work. Children all of you know that according to Newton’s theory of

motion (third law) " every action has an equal and opposite reaction " Similarly, if

we do good , we get good results and if we do bad deeds we have to accept bad

result. We should not blame God for our bad actions.
