After the success of Valentine party, attended by 100 + members,
we have organized our ever popular event, “HOLI” as well as
“ANAND BAZAR”.
Holi has been organized on Saturday, April 07 2012.
ANAND BAZAR will take place on Saturday, May 05 2012.
I request everyone to please join us in celebrating the Holi event.
There will be a snack after the Holi calibration.
I would also like to request members to please contact any
committee member to reserve the food stall. Our delicious and
mouthwatering dishes are enough to attract the big crowd of
members, not to mention the various games. So please come and
taste the various Gujarati dishes.
Anand Bazar will be held at the same place as last year.

Eggless Cardamom and Chocolate Cheesecake
Ingredients for the base:
1/4 cup butter at room temperature
1/4 cup sugar
1 ½ tsps vanilla extract
1 cup plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
Ingredients for the filling:
500g ricotta cheese
500g cream cheese, at room temperature
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 ½ cups sugar
1 tbsp cornflour
1 1/3 cups double cream
1 ½ tsps vanilla extract
1/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted
½ tsp cardamom, ground into powder
Method for the base:
1. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Cream together
the sugar and butter and add the vanilla extract.
2. Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture quickly
with cold hands or a fork.
3. Press the mixture into a greased 10 inch springform tin.
Method for the filling:
1. Beat together all of the ingredients excluding the cocoa
powder and ground cardamom until it has thickened.
2. Place half of the mixture into a separate bowl and add the
cocoa powder and cardamom powder. Combine thoroughly.
3. Place the white layer of filling over the uncooked base and
finally the chocolate filling over the white layer.
4. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 ¼ hours until set.
5. Allow to cool and refrigerate for day.
ચટણી – સેવ – દહપુરી સામ�ીસામ�ીસામ�ીસામ�ી ::::---- પાણીપુરીની પુરી અથવા રવાની �ડી પુરી ૧૦૦ ામ બાફેલા ચણા (મીઠું નાખીને બાફી લેવા) ૨૦૦ ામ બાફેલા બટાકા ૧ ટેબલ�પૂન લીલા મરચાની પે�ટ ૧/૨ કપ કાકડી બારીક સમારેલી ૧/૨ કપ ડુંગળી બારીક સમારેલી ૧/૨ કપ દાડમના દાણા ૧/૨ કપ લસણ અને લાલ મરચાની ચટણી ૧/૨ કપ કોથમીર !દનાની લીલી ચટણી ૧ કપ ખજૂર આમલીની ચટણી ૧ કપ ગ$યુ દહ' ૧/૨ કપ ઝીણી સેવ ૧/૨ કપ બુંદી ૧/૨ ટેબલ�પૂન )* પાવડર ૧/૨ ટેબલ�પૂન સંચળ મીઠું �વાદ અનુસાર રીતરીતરીતરીત ::::---- બાફેલા બટાકા અને ચણાને એક બાઉલમા ંલઈ મસળી નાખો તેમા ં�વાદ -માણ ેમીઠું અન ેલીલા મરચાની પે�ટ નાખીને ભેળવી લો હવે પુરીન ેવ/ચેથી તોડીને તેમાં આ િમ1ણ ભરીને એક !ડશમાં ગોઠવી લો. પછી બધી જ પુરીમા ંસમારેલી કાકડી, ડુંગળી અન ેસંચળ )5 પાવડર છાંટો . જો મા6 સેવ પુરી બનાવવી હોય તો ઉપરથી લાલ ચટણી, લીલી ચટણી, સવે અને બુંદી નાખીને પીરસાય એ જ રીતે દહ'પુરી માટે લાલ ચટણી, દાડમના દાણા અને ગ$યું દહ' નાખીને બનાવી શકાય. અને ચટણીપુરીમા ંસેવ, બુંદી અને ખજૂર આમલીની ખાટીમીઠી ચટણી નાંખો. (જો કે એકદમ ચટાકેદાર બનાવવુ ંહોય તો આ બધીજ ચટણીઓ અને દહ' થોડા થોડા નાખી જુઓ… )
