The Regular Meeting of the Petal School District

Board of Trustees was held at 7:00 p.m. on Tues-

day, March 17, 2015, in the Central Office Board

Room.

After the meeting was called to order, Petal High

School Student, Benjamin Brickson, led those

present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Superintendent, Dr. Matt Dillon presented to Petal Edu-

cation Foundation Director, Leahne Lightsey a plaque

from the district for being

awarded the Bobby Run-

nels Leadership Award by

the Petal Chamber of Com-

merce. This award is given

annually to a Petal leader

who makes outstanding

contributions to the Petal

community. Congratula-

tions, Leahne!

In their inaugural year, the Petal Education Foundation Ambassadors are comprised of 20 outstanding

juniors and seniors from Petal High School. Through a rigorous selection process, these students were

chosen to represent our district at functions throughout the year. Representing a wide variety of extracur-

ricular activities as well as exceptional academic accomplishments the Ambassadors are sponsored by

Gary Graves, Leahne Lightsey, and Leann Swafford.
