Please pray for the recovery of:

Fire safety starts at home When families have fire plans in place, they are much more likely to escape the dangers should a fire occur. Be-cause a fire can separate parents from

their children, it’s important that everyone knows how to get out of the house safely and where to go. Teaching your kids to be resourceful in dangerous situations can help them in every aspect of their lives. For more information from the American Red Cross about fire escape planning email [email protected].

In Memoriam let us pray for all who have died,

that they may rejoice with the Risen Lord.

Sr. Luz Consuelo Dolalas

May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

THE DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY St. John Baptist De La Salle Church

APRIL 3, 2016 Jesus told St. Faustina “I want to grant a complete par-don to the souls that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion on the Feast of My Mercy”. We want to encourage everyone to take advantage of this incredi-ble promise and the additional Plenary Indulgence on this great Feast of Mercy “Divine Mercy Sunday”. We want you to benefit fully from these promises, and we also want you to notify all of your family and friends about them too and urge them to return to the practice of their faith! The Image of The Divine Mercy, which Our Lord requested to be solemnly blessed and venerated on this day, will be on display in our church. Pope John Paul II said that the image portrays the Risen Jesus Christ bringing Mercy to the whole world.

CHRISTIAN INITIATION: THE THIRD SCRUTINY

The Third Scrutiny will be cele-brated today at the 9:00am Mass. With Lazarus (John. 11:

1-45), we are called out of our tombs to em-brace life through death. The Gospel immerses us, along with the Elect, in the paradox of the Christianity, which we profess… the cross that is resurrection, the death that is life.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an extension of the main assembly’s cele-bration of the Mass. Watch for the ban-

ner in the Entrance Procession at the 9:00am Mass which means that the children will be dismissed to gath-er in the Kateri Room and hear simplified, age appropri-ate readings. They will reflect on what they’ve heard, profess their faith, offer prayers of the faithful and con-tribute to the collection basket (envelopes will be pro-vided). Their collection basket will be presented during the Offertory. The children will return to their families in Church for the continued celebration of the Mass. If you are interested in your child participating, have any questions, or would like to volunteer please contact Mrs. Cole: (818) 368-1514 / [email protected]
