Maps can show cities, states or countries. Maps help people find their way.

Did you know that most of the Earth is covered by water? Oceans, rivers, lakes and streams are called bodies of water.

Maps and globes show land and water. The bodies of water are blue.

Look at the map. What color, or colors, are the land?

Maps and globes show places in a smaller size. A picture can only show part of a place in Georgia. A map can show the whole state. Look at the pictures. What can you see in the picture? What can you see in the map?

A globe helps us learn about the world.
