Also of note is my most recent position as Principal Pianist for the Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz in Venezuela from 2009 to 2011. In this role, I was responsible for playing the piano as a principal Pianist and Impart my Knowledge as a master classes speaker in some states of my Country in order to open others Big Band Jazz in Venezuela, which it was entirely positive. Proyecto que nace del reconocido Robert Vilera, con composiciones del mismo y del pianista Manuel Gmez, con el estilo nico de cada uno de los grandes msicos que conforma el proyecto: Robert Vilera (Percusionista), Manuel Gmez (Piano) y Daniel Stable (bajo).

ROBERT VILERA THREE JAZZ PROYECT APRIL 2013Robert Vilera was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where he was surrounded by Afro-Venezuelan and Afro-Cuban rhythm. His father, a respected percussionist in his native country, tutored and encouraged Vilera on timbales through his adolescent years. Robert Vilera studied at the respected Orquesta Sinfonica de Venezuela (The Symphonic Orchestra of Venezuela), and his percussion technique soon garnered attention from his colleagues. He joined the popular music ensembles Oscar DLeon, where he enjoyed widespread worldwide exposure. Besides being known for his skillful timbale work, Robert also plays congas, bongos, drum set, djembe, cajon and a wide variety of assorted percussion instruments. His technique on all of these instruments is masterful and unparalleled. Playing and co-producing with various artists. Robert has had 15 nominations at the Grammys and he has won more than 7 Grammys. Rob Vilera has 2 Latin Jazz album & has worked & Record with Paul Simons, Shakira,Ricky Martin,Jennifer Lopez,Alejandro Sanz,Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Jaime Fox,Queen Latifah, the late Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Cachao, India, Eddie Palmieri, Paulina Rubio, Thalia, Luis Enrique, Victor Manuelle, Carlos Vives, Luis Fonsi, Nestor Torres, Richard Bona, Gabriela Andrews, Richie Flores, Giovanni Hidalgo, Dave Valentin, Dave SamuelsCaribean Jazz Project and countless other high-profile music acts. Robert has performed on Television on such shows as the Grammy Awards, The Latin Grammy Awards, The American Music Awards, The MTV Music Awards. Vilera is comfortable working in any genre of music from Symphonic to Jazz,Funk and from Latin to House. Robert Vilera is also a skilled clinician who shares his limitless knowledge of music to younger percussionists around the world. Today, he is an established and respected musician, recording, teacher, band director, and master percussionist, and continues to push the boundaries of his craft.
