Man arrested in Denver-area police chase is suspect in Wheat Ridge shooting David Scott Waddell (7News) A man arrested in Westminster late Sunday after a slow-speed, multi-city police chase is the last of three suspects to be arrested in connection with a Wheat Ridge shooting last December, authorities say. David Scott Waddell, 30, was taken into custody at about 8 p.m. on westbound U.S. 36 near 92nd Avenue after police used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. The chase began in Aurora after an officer there spotted Waddell, authorities say. Waddell is being held at the Jefferson County jail on suspicion of the attempted first-degree murder of 29-year-old Gregory Kilcollins. Additionally, Shantell Rangel and Eugene Vigil, both 25, have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery in the case. Rangel and Vigil are being held at the county jail, records show. Waddell also was wanted on several additional, unrelated warrants in the Denver area when he was arrested Sunday, and he faces charges in the police chase.

A man arrested in Westminster late Sunday after a slow-speed, multi-city police chase is the last ofthree suspects to be arrested in connection with a Wheat Ridge shooting last December, authoritiessay.

David Scott Waddell, 30, was taken into custody at about 8 p.m. on westbound U.S. 36 near 92ndAvenue after police used stop sticks to disable the vehicle. The chase began in Aurora after anofficer there spotted Waddell, authorities say.

Waddell is being held at the Jefferson County jail on suspicion of the attempted first-degree murderof 29-year-old Gregory Kilcollins. Additionally, Shantell Rangel and Eugene Vigil, both 25, have beenarrested and charged with aggravated robbery in the case.

Rangel and Vigil are being held at the county jail, records show.

Waddell also was wanted on several additional, unrelated warrants in the Denver area when he wasarrested Sunday, and he faces charges in the police chase.

Wheat Ridge police say Kilcollins was the intended target of a shooting Dec. 10at the Villa Victoriaapartment complex near West 38th Avenue and Quail Court.

Investigators initially charged Kilcollins in the shooting, believing he was the aggressor, police say.He was apprehended by U.S. Marshals after roughly a week.

Court records show prosecutors dropped attempted murder and assault charges leveled against himin the shooting. He pleaded guilty in May to being a previous offender in possession of a weapon, afelony.

Kilcollins is due to be sentenced in that case on June 29.

Acting Cmdr. JD Jepkema, of Wheat Ridge police, said Monday that an arrest affidavit sayingKilcollins instigated the shooting precipitated by a love triangle feud appears to be off-base.

Jefferson County authorities are slated to release further information on the case later Monday.
