    Butter London Creative Director Interview

Can you tell us somethingabout yourself? What do youlike, your hobbies?

I am an art nerd. I love muse-ums and check out any exhibitin town, contemporary or clas-sical! Interiors are another pas-sion, (or maybe Im justsuper-duper OCD), but I re-arrange my house every week.My 2 year old never knowswhat the heck is going on, buthas learnt that her dollies are al-

ways in the same spot. I love tobuy junk shop furniture and domy own restorations. They al-ways involve leopard print andpaint!

How did you get the idea ofstarting a nail polish companyand how did you come up withsuch an amazing name (I per-

    sonally love it)?

Thank you! Well, our namecame from Sasha Muir, ourfounder and former CEO, wholoved the Mike Meyers sketchon SNL about Nails like but-tah! I myself was a sessionmanicurist for high fashionphoto shoots in London for

many years, and had alwaysdreamt of creating a nail range

around Fashion, thatwould be based on realinteraction with thatworld. Being the Found-

ing Creative Directorhere at buer LONDONis truly my dream job. Iget to paint my nailstwice a day, play withart and packaging, andwalk around barefootand covered in lotionsand potions. Brilliant!

Where do you usually get aninspiration for the new collec-tions? How would you de-scribe a process from the ideayou have till the final product? How long does it take?

Inspiration always comes fromwhat I see happening in Fash-ion. I work directly with many

designers to create customcolours for their catwalkshows/collections, which givesme insight into major trendsand upcoming colour palees. Iuse that knowledge to createnails colours and texturesthat are truly on trend, and

bring our customers to the cut-ting edge.

What colours in nail polishwould be popular for this hol-iday season? What nail polishtrends do you think will bepopular in the next seasons?

We are celebrating the holidayswith a selection of metallics.Metallic lacquer feels festive,

but more sophisticated thansay, glier or just plain red.Look out for them now: Fairy

Lights, Knees Up, and PerfectPrezzie limited edition andgoing fast! S/S 2011 has a dis-tinctly retro feel, and I think ourcustomers are ready for moder-ately colourful nails again aftermany seasons of greige. Well

be showing a whitish, bub-blegum pink, a cobalt blue, anda molten metallic apple green

    amongst others. GORGEOUS!

The Creative Director of one of our favourite nail polishbrands, buer LONDON, Nonie Creme tells us what in-spires her, shares her beauty wish list, gives us tips on howto use a nail polish and gives us a sneak peek into theSpring trends.

What is buer LONDONsbest selling nail polish? Whatis your personal favorite? Whatshade would you recommendto someone who is new to thecompany?

Our all time best seller is

Yummy Mummy. Its an ele-gant, opaque beige that suits ab-solutely every skin tone, and infashion year in, year out. Its mytop recommendation to anyoneout there. My personal fav?Changes hourly!! Today itsKnees Up, a show-stoppingmetallic red from our holidayselection.

What kind of shade would youlike to create? What was themost unique nail polish colourthis year in your opinion?

Id like to work more with holo-graphic particles like the onesfeatured in our best seller AllHail the Queen. Ill dive into

that a bit more for Fall 2011 I

think. My most unusual shadefor 2010 is Bumster, oddly beau-tiful mustard yellow from ourFall 2010 Collection. Its unex-pected, but somehow looks con-servative and chic on the hand.

Maybe you can tell us some

tips on how to take care of yournails and how to create a per-fect manicure? Most important thing to re-member is CONSISTENCY. Ex-ample: by using Melt Away by

bL once a week on hard, thickcuticles, followed by gentlypushing back and exfoliation, you can literally train your

cuticles to be softer, smaller, and consistently moisturized.Like going to the gym orLatisse, these things work RE-ALLY well when done withcommitment and consistency!

When painting, use your thumbto gently pull the skin awayfrom each fingertip when paint-

ing, and apply a lile lacquer to

the end of every fingernail, wrapping the colour all the wayaround the underneath of thenail. Then apply the rest of yourshade a normal. Let nails dry

before applying topcoat (AL-WAYS use topcoat). Your nailsshould last 1-3 days longer than

    normal.

And finally, please share withus what is on your beauty wishlist for holiday?

Id love to see (and give) someTATCHA bloing papers in mystocking. I have terribly shinyskin, and these babies are key to

my survival! Also, Im addictedto Lash Fusion mascara, nowthat Ive got great lashes (thankyou Latisse!), I like to pushthem to the limits of length andthickness. Finally, I simplyadore almost every scent thatCREED makes. They are a veryold fragrance house with realhistory, and I feel like royalty

    when I wear their colognes.

Four lovely beauty and fashioninsiders share their favouritemakeup products and what theylove about the beauty and fashionindustry as well as giving us asneaky peek at future trends.

Nadin, PR manager of London-Moscow based beauty brandRouge Bunny Rouge which com-bines the best from the worlds ofcosmetics and design, whiletreasuring a Victorian-style fairytale and Tsarist aristocratic iden-tity at its core. Please visit the

Rouge Bunny Rouge Facebookto find out more about the brandhp://www.facebook.com/rougebunnyrouge

Please tell us something aboutyourself and what you do.

    I started my career at a communi-cations agency in Berlin which isspecialised in social media and IT;

quite different to the Internationalwork with beauty brand RougeBunny Rouge I joined in 2007while I was looking for more cre-ative and inspiring tasks.

What do you like the best aboutthe beauty industry?

Since my childhood I have been

addicted to all kinds of lifestyleand beauty musings. When Iwrote as a free authoress my in-terest for the beauty industry wasreinforced as there is alwayssomething to discover and to becurious about. Of course, beingamong the first trying out newtextures, ingredients and coloursis always exciting.

Holidays are almost here, can youshare what's on your beautywishlist?Among the top three of my wish-

list is definitely a spa treatmentas the winter started so earlythis year. Haus of Gloi "ParkinPumpkin Buer" might be niceas well and A'kin hair productswould be perfect, too.

We all have our favouritemakeup products so can youtell us about yours?

I totally adore aromatherapyinspired products like ourMake-up Melt Cleanser towake up in the morning and relax

after a long day. Also a goodLengthening Mascara to achievean adorable look without anyother products is one of my top

beauty essentials. Multipurposemake-up products like our Lumi-nous Skin Wand and DecadentDuo which are easy to use to keepmy beauty routine simple andhandy in the same time are a

must. During the winter season Ican not live without Lip Balm thatneeds to work for very cold tem-peratures, too.

It's almost the end of the year, sowhat were the most significantevents and launches in the beautyworld in 2010 in your opinion? What beauty products launched

    in 2010 would you recommend?

My personal top discovery of theyear is an Ayurvedic forehead oilflow treatment I recently had. Youdo not feel just relaxed during thesession but also detached fromeverything around you.The satin hair brush (Braun) is my

beauty tool of the year as it makes

the hair easily shine as well as thefabulous reconstructing shampooRussian Amber with amino acidswhich instantly brings your hair

back to life. Products I would

highly recommend arethose I included into my

daily beauty routine thisyear like the very nourish-ing and hydrating ColdPlasma for eyes (PerriconeMD) and the RBR GlideConcealer as it blends ef-fortlessly in your naturalskin colour and glow with-out looking like traditionalconcealer.

And finally, everyone wantsto know, about the makeuptrends for 2011. Can youshare with us?

On one hand we will see al-luring and seductive make-ups and on the other handnatural tones for a nude,

very pure but healthy andstill polished look. Maybeone of the hoest make-uptrends for the next year arefresh and bright springcolours for your eyes incombination with a warmsummer look and slightlyglowing skin. Also brighterlips with more earthy toned

colours for eyes are myfavourite looks for the up-coming year.

Ruth, International modeland a beauty writer whocan be found athp://www.amodelrecomends.com

    Please tell us something

    about yourself and whatyou do.

I am a fashion model andfreelance beauty writer andI run my own website, AModel Recommends. I have

been modelling for nearlyten years now, and the web-site has been running since

    March this year!

What do you like the bestabout the beauty and fash-ion industries?

I love that my work is al-ways changing - I'm neverdoing the same thing fromone day to the next! I can be

in New York on the Mon-day, shooting in a derelictwarehouse, and Paris byWednesday, modellingwacky beauty looks! It'shard work, but it's reward-ing - and I'm prey muchmy own boss. I love that Iget to see - and be involvedin - the entire process; I havemy makeup done, I get towork with amazing artistsand then I write about it alltoo!Holidays are almost here,

can you share what's on yourbeauty wishlist?

I'm fast running out of my Bio-derma cleanser - I need a constantsupply! I'd also like a bright lip-

stick to get me in the festivemood, and a deep, spicy fra-grance. Something grown-up!

We all have our favouritemakeup products so can you tellus about yours?

My favourites are always chang-ing, but there are a few stand-out

products that I come back to timeand time again. One is EsteeLauder's Double Wear concealer,it's simply amazing, covers updark circles perfectly. Another isMyFace's foundation - I ab-solutely love it. Really light andnatural looking, I've had so manycompliments about my skin whenI've been wearing it! Clinique's

Take the Day Off eye makeup re-mover is one of my most re-pur-chased items, and I use a LOT ofdry shampoo!

It's almost the end of the year, sowhat were themost significant events andlaunches in the beauty world in2010 in your opinion? What

beauty products launched in 2010would you recommend?

There have been so many! Thingsthat jump to mind immediately

are the UK launch ofEdward Bess'smakeup range, whichis truly beautiful, anda small companycalled Love+Art

(www.loveandart.co.uk) whoproduce very ethical organic skinand body products. I'm hopingthat they will begin to expandtheir range! Product-wise, I'mvery, very impressed with the

MyFace foundation, and alsoLancome's Teint Miracle. I'm ob-sessed with Estee Lauder's Ex-travagant Gold eye palee, theshades are so flaering andwould suit any skin tone!

And finally, everyone wants toknow, about the beauty and fash-ion trends for 2011. Can you share

    with us?

Magazines shoot three or fourmonths in advance, so it gives mequite a good head-start on futuretrends! I think that good, flawlessskin will continue to be a priority- more and more brands are pro-ducing light, fresh base productsand 'glow' enhancers. The

smokey eye seems to ALWAYS beon trend, but varies slightly fromseason to season. I recently did ashoot with a deep, coppery eyewhich would be great for thosedark winter evenings, but I havealso seen a simple fine line abovethe lashes that looks sleek andneat. I have my own rule when itcomes to trends, and that is that

you don't have to follow any ofthem! Be yourself, use them as aguide or for inspiration, but ulti-mately makeup should be funand not too time-consuming!

Next year well be wearingmae lipstick (or maifyingour fave lipsticks with pow-der), well be more inter-ested on fair-tradeingredients (which I think isa more exciting concept thatthe over-used organicterm) and well be lookingto simplify our skincareregimes with a more mod-ern, streamlined one sizefits all approach rather thaninvesting in lots of differentproducts.

We know how much you all love beauty bloggers so enjoy whatthey have to say on holiday col-lections and cosmetics.

    Magi fromhp://www.magi-mania.de/

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

I was in love with DIORMinaudiere but unfortunately Iam disappointed with the 001one. So I have to name NARS.Love the Eyeshadows.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-

    ready?

Because of the lack of light I don'tmake a lot of colorful looks. I likesmokey eyes whenever it's possi-

ble or very nude with darker lip-stick at the moment. For holidayit has to be red glier polish - I usePOPBeauty "Xmas" but it's verysimilar to CHINA GLAZE Ruby

Pumps. I am glad that gold eye-shadows are so popular now - Iwill definitely use it this yearagain.

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

I think I have never received anycosmetics. And I am happy about

    it.

    Dara fromhp://belledujournewyorkcity.blogspot.com/

    What holiday makeup collection

did you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

To be completely honest, I feltvery uninspired by the makeupcollections so far this year as awhole. However, there have beena few must have items in myopinion. First and foremost, thisseason we saw Urban DecaysNaked Palee, which to me is ab-solutly essential and if I had only

one palee to use for the rest ofmy life...this would be it! I also amloving the new gold eyeshadowfrom NARS, Estrusque. Lastly, Iam loving is the Illamasqua fourpalee liquid metal palee, veryversatile.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear in

winter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-ready?

In the winter I like to wear goldsand bronzes to warm up my com-plexion. I also love a bright redlipstick, my current favorite isNARS Heat Wave.

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

Hm...this is a hard one. I think myfavorite beauty related gift areSpa Days! Who doesn't love a SpaTreatment?

    Monika fromhp://rocaille-writes.blogspot.com/

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in your

    opinion?

I really liked the imagery ofUrban Decay Holiday 2010collection with their jewel-colored eyes and cat-eyeshaped looks. I got totallysucked in and bought their24/7 Jackpot set to try theirfamous Glide-on eyelinersand so far, I'm absolutelyloving them! On the otherhand, I was completely dis-appointed by MAC's offer-

ings this season. For mynails, I enjoy wearing twoChina Glaze polishes fromthe 'Tis the Season to beNaughty and Nice' collec-tion: a funky pinkish gliitercalled 'Mrs. Santa' and a

    burgundy black 'Naughtyand Nice'.

What kind of colour andshades of makeup do youlike to wear in winter? Whatabout your holiday look, doyou have any ideas already?

I'll be very boring and pre-dictable and say deeper, more berry-toned hues forlips and cheeks and greys

and purples for the eyes, which work very well withmy pale complexion anddark brown irises. I'm alsopartial to a bit more shineand sparkle than usual, es-pecially on the lids. My ideafor a holiday look involvessome neutral brown shadesfor the eyes with a touch of

gold shimmer above thepupil and a darker, juicy lip, possibly involving NYX lip-gloss in 'Garnet'. Plus some

    beautiful gliery nails!

What was the best beautyrelated present you ever re-ceived?

This is a very difficult ques-tion! I'm often given per-fumes by my husband, but Iguess the most memorable

beauty-related present I re-ceived was from my mumone Christmas when I wasmaybe 15. She (ekhm,Santa, I mean!) got me myfirst bole of liquid founda-

tion by Yves Rocher and atrio of bronzy eyeshadows. While the foundation was-n't unfortunately the bestshade, I loved the eyeshad-ows to pieces and usedthem at every opportunity.I still have them somewherein the back of my make-updrawer!

    Gio fromhp://beautifulwithbrains.com/

What holiday makeup col-lection did you like the

best? What are the standouts and must-haves in thisyears collections in youropinion?

To be honest, none of theholiday collections out thisyear have wowed me. I loveClarins Barocco for thepackaging, it's beautiful andluxurious. Chanel's collec-tion was also nice, espe-cially the blush. But to me,this year it's all about the

holiday sets. Lots of brandshave come out with Christ-mas kits that allow you totry their most popular prod-ucts at a bargain price. My

favourite sets are from the UrbanDecay and Benefit.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-ready?

I usually wear colorful shades(my favourites are greens andpurples) all year round regardlessof the season. But for this year'sholiday look I was thinking to use

gold eyeshadows on the eyes, maybe mixing them with greenand white which are very festiveshades. I'd pair that with pink lipsand a peachy pink blush withgold shimmers like Sleek RoseGold or Milani Luminous.

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

That's a hard question! Probablysome Pupa palee. When I was ateenager, my mum would buyme one each Christmas. They arethe perfect gift for a teenager be-cause they contain everything agirl could need to create preylooks (eyeshadows, blushes, lip-sticks/glosses...) and the packag-

    ing is just too cute!

    Vesna fromhp://www.beautyaddict.net/

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

I like Too Faced palees, I thinkthey're lovely and so usable! When it comes to 'must haves' Imust admit that I don't think any-

thing is 'must have' from holidaycollections. There are so manylovely stuff but nothing is *really*stunning. Maybe I just got fed upwith so many collections whichare coming out all the time, I don'tknow. And some colors are re-peating too much which also theother reason I don't think here areany special must haves.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holiday

look, do you have any ideas al-ready?

Though I like to wear bold butdarker colors in the winter time, this year I decided to "fight" thisugly weather with some colorswhich really stand out like vividpurple, electric blue, turquoise, etc. I just got an electric blue gel

liner and OMG, it looks so gor-geous in this winter time! I thinkI'll wear it all the time. About myholiday look - no idea, but defi-nitely something with lots andlots of gliers! I love gliers and Ithink this year I'll apply it all overmy lids, but haven't decidedwhich color :)

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

Last few years I received some re-ally nice beauty presents butsomehow my favorite one isMAC MSF Peicoat. My

boyfriend purchased it when hewas visiting USA and that's my1st MAC item and I fell in love

when I saw it! It's still my favoriteblush.

    What holiday makeup collection

did you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

This year I think Chanel and Diorhad the best holiday collections.Standouts are Chanel's TweedFuschia Blush, Chanel Glossimersin Pink Pulsion, Dior's Timeless

Gold Nail Polish, the Grey-Golds001 Minaudire and the Five-Golds Quint. YSL also had 2lovely highlighters, the Touched'Or Gold click-pen and the Col-orama powder highlighter - GOR-GEOUS!

If I had to pick 3 must-haves thisholiday, they would be: Dior'sFive-Golds Quint, Chanel TweedFuschia Blush and YSL's Col-orama Highlighter.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-ready?

I have two looks that I've been

drawn to this holiday. For day-time, I've been wearing ChanelStupendous and Mystic Eyesquads a lot with soft pink blushand Chanel's Confidence RougeAllure Extrait de Gloss mixedwith a clear sparkle gloss. I'll adda bit of bronzer to warm up theface, Daydream by Edward Bessis my favorite. For night, I've been

using Dior's Five Golds Quint, mixing the shades and layeringfor different effects. I use this fora dramatic eye along with a bright

    pink blush and neutral sparklinglips.

What was the best beauty related

    present you ever received?

Last year, a friend gifted me oneof Chanel's Holiday beauty sets. Also tied, my sister gave me aHAI Ceramic Straightener as aChristmas present one year andit's lasted me for ages, I use itweekly and love it.

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

This year, both Dior and Guerlain

did a wonderful collection. Bothwere very striking visually andquality of each was unbeliev-able. The colors were on-trend,yet classic. Im still enjoyingevery piece that Ive goen from

    both collections.

Diors Five Golds Palee is amust-have for this year. The tex-

ture is absolutely perfectthere isa Holiday shimmer but thepalee can be toned down fordaytime. The range of shadesgives you a beautiful depth. Hon-estly, one of my favorite paleesof the entire year.

For Guerlain, the Perles DOrwere a huge surprise for me. I al-most passed them by, but boughtthem on a whim and Im sohappy that I did. They give thisvery natural, healthy glow thatlooks so beautifully polished. I

know that they would workon a very wide range of skintones, and make the skinlook very polished and spe-

    cial.

What kind of colour andshades of makeup do youlike to wear in winter? Whatabout your holiday look, doyou have any ideas already?

I gravitate toward berriesand golds. Ive been using

my Chanel Soho Blush andHighlighter for cheeks, andRouge Coco in Stunning forlipstick. Nars Etrusque isgenius for this time ofyearthe warm gold

brightens up a grey or brown eye. Also, Ive also been enjoying BobbiBrowns Modern ClassicEyes and Lips Paleeitslike playing in a paint boxand it gives me a winninglook every time.

Holiday 2010 is all aboutmetallic textures. My Holi-day look is going to be allabout perfect skin toppedwith metallic shimmer. Ive

    been playing with Yves

Saint Laurents ColoramaHighlighter and ToucheDOr Highlighterbothhave been fun to weareveryday, when going outto coffee with friends ordinner. For the more formalevents, Ill certainly bewearing Dior Five Goldswith Guerlains Perles

    What was the best beauty

My husband has realizedthat I love Chanelmakeup. One year, he gaveme a few dozen itemsmakeup, skincare and fra-grance. He had the salesassociate wrap each item

separatelyit was such funopening them! He usuallysupplements this with moreevery year. This is one rea-son why our marriageworks so well!

What holiday makeup col-lection did you like the

best? What are the standouts and must-haves in thisyears collections in youropinion?

    just gorgeous. So amazinglypigmented too!

What kind of colour andshades of makeup do youlike to wear in winter? Whatabout your holiday look, doyou have any ideas already?

I tend to stay away from

super bright colors as muchas possible in the winter. Ido have a few uges to wearthem anyway though.

For my holiday look, I'm thinkingsomething with gold and possiblea wine eyeshadow for a smokey, sparkly look.

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

For me I just loved Chanel's Les

Tentations collection - the brown-gold palee and the hot pink lip-stick and gloss are just amazingand I also like Becca's FallenAngel collection (the eye paleeand the new Pewter Eye Tint inparticular). The Shu UemuraTakano collection is somethingcompletely different on the out-side but it's adorable, the paleewith browns and golds is lovelyand the lile lip pots with red, pink and apricot are all very ver-satile (a stain and gloss) andwearable (on my Christmaslist!). Also I have ordered Coffretsets (the Japanese holiday giftsets) from Jill Stuart, Lunasol andEsprique Precious!

What kind of colour and shades

of makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-ready?

I love to wear strong eyes, not black, just very dark metallicshades of blue, green and

browns. Or, I have very nude

eyes with liner and hot pink lipsor carmine coloured lips.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holiday

I love wearing deep, rich shadeson my lips and nails such as vel-vety burgundies, rich reds, deeppurples and dark pinks. My hol-iday look always includes lots ofsparkle, shimmer and jewel tones.

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

Winning a trip to St. Lucia wasthe most amazing gift I couldhave ever received. The beautyrest (which is more valuable thanany beauty product) and relax-ation I was able to experience waspriceless!

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

I liked Chanels Holiday Collec-tion the most... it contained theperfect mix of sultry and sparklyto light up the season. The standouts were the Chanel TentationCuivree Palee and the OmbreDeau in Splash. I also particu-larly liked Estee Lauders Extrav-agant Berry Lipstick from theirHoliday collection.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-

    ready?

To be honest, Im still loving Au-

tumn colours so much that itshard to drag me out of them. Pur-ples, plums, coppers and theubiquitous browns and taupesmake up the majority of my eyeshades. Im adoring bold lipstickat the moment so you can throwsome red and berry shades intothe mix! For Christmas Day?Definitely a red lip... Im leaningtoward MAC Russian Red with avery light smoky eye. My hus-

band may kill me when the timecomes to wash all those wineglasses though!

What was the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

Oh gosh, my family refuse to buyme beauty gifts because theyknow its what I treat myself to allyear round! They try and buy mesomething a bit different for spe-cial occasions! I can never decidewhether to be pleased or upset bythat!

    Jen fromhp://www.mizzworthy.com/

What holiday makeup collectiondid you like the best? What arethe stand outs and must-haves inthis years collections in youropinion?

I've been trying to be very goodthis year and not take too muchnotice of the Christmas collec-tions, because I inevitably end up

spending more on myself than onother people! It is Christmas afterall, and I'm meant to be buyinggifts not indulging myself lol.

However I am definitelytaken by the Chanel christ-mas collection.

The eye shadow palee andblusher are both divine, andChanel is one of myfavourite brands. I also lovethe Estee Lauder Christmascollection - classically beau-tiful and timeless. I do feelthat high street brands arealso well worth a lookthough - the new RevlonFire and Ice lip and nail duoare gorgeous vintage pillar-

box red shades which areperfect for this time of year.

What kind of colour andshades of makeup do youlike to wear in winter? Whatabout your holiday look, doyou have any ideas already?

I very much view the coldermonths as my licence to in-dulge in reds, berries andmore dramatic looks. I havenaturally pale skin and feellike this becomes as asset inthe winter.

On an everyday basis I tendto just try to make my skin

look as flawless as possible. For nights out or days offwork I'll definitely hit thedarks and reds on lips andnails, and smokier eyes.Even with more neutraleyes I like to add a smudgeof liner for more definitionand to balance the look, es-pecially if I'm doing a

    strong lip!

    ceived?

    When I was younger my

mum used to buy me thechanel limited edition setsat Christmas - one of thesewas the "Les Guaches DeChanel" which was like a setof paints which could beused on eyes lips or face, and could be mixed with agloss. I love the set, but I'mterrified to use it as I treas-ure it so much! That wasprobably the item whichstarted my obsession withmakeup in a major way!

What holiday makeup col-lection did you like the

best? What are the standouts and must-haves in thisyears collections in youropinion?

MAC A Tartan Tale collec-tion. Simply love the vi-

brant colors of its packagingand the large variety ofproducts and the beautifulshades. There surely is

something for everyone. In my opinion, among thestand-outs are the TartanEyeshadows, somethingcolorful amongst the usualgolds, plums, purples andgreys for the Holiday andWinter.

    Well, these eyeshadows do

have the shades mentioned, but the tones of the eye-shadows give a more Springfell. Estee Lauder Extrava-

gant Gold Pure Color Five ColorEyeshadow Palee is a stand-outtoo as earthy tones for the Holi-

days are quite unusual, and thispalee is very versatile that its usewill span beyond the holidays. Some of the must-haves would in-clude Dior Minaudiere PinkGolds, Shiseido and RMK holidaypalees.

What kind of colour and shadesof makeup do you like to wear inwinter? What about your holidaylook, do you have any ideas al-ready?

I like to wear 2 extremes of shadesfor the winter. For the eyes, pur-ples and plummy shades aresome of my all-time favorites andespecially so in the fall and win-ter. I do add in a dash of blueor grey here and there forvariety. For the lips, thatwould be differenttones of red andplum. For thecheeks, it's usu-ally a sheer

blush in theshades of pink. Onthe other hand, Imay go for the

neutrals withsome shimmer(may be palegold) for the eyesand a nude lipcolor.

I think my holidaylook would be a softsmokey grey look for

the eyes to go with a deepred lipstick.

What is the best beauty relatedpresent you ever received?

A train case, from my husband. Itshows his understanding andsupport for my love and passionfor makeup.
