guide that comes with each set of Beauty Books. Use a highlighter to highlight the

parts that need to stand out so that you are sure to remember them. Highlight the

product for the page in one color and comments in another. MEMORIZE the

OPENING and the CLOSING—this is critical to your party’s success! Your new

recruits need to see you use this Instructor’s Guide—or they think you have to

memorize a LOT and may not sign up!

PARTY PREP

• Refer to the Packing Checklist for information on what to bring and how to use it during your party.

• You may want to arrive early enough to makeover the Hostess using the Personal Beauty Profiler (or Color Insider or notes) BEFORE THE GUESTS ARRIVE. This gives you time to bond with her and she can be your assistant during the party!

• If this is HER first facial, too, you can have her use the Miracle on her right side only, apply foundation to entire face and continue with color. She will hear what each item does during the party!

• Ask where you will be doing the party and where you can set up for Individual Consultations (super important!).

• Take microdermabrasion to the kitchen. Show the Hostess exactly what you would like her to do: demo a tiny bit on the back of the right hand only, rinse well. Tiny bit of step 2. Send guest to you at the table.

• Set a gorgeous table. Perhaps bring a pink or black tablecloth. In the center of the table, place your Roll Up Bag, Hostess’ Gift for holding the party (custom compact, empty), Gift she’ll get for 2 parties booking, Hostess Packets. Maybe display fragrances or current Limited Edition products or gift sets for coming occasion or holiday.

• Set up your “office”. Have Hostess Packets, your copy of The Look, money bag, calculator, sales slips, Recruiting Packets, etc.

• While instructing your Hostess on her look, get the guest’s trays ready. Pen, notepad, profile, tray / insert, personalized gift bags: color card, applicator, cotton balls, maybe a travel mascara, 2 “beauty chocolates” and your business card (to save time, prepare these in bulk, perhaps color coding the bags or ribbon for each of the available color cards OR eye colors if you want to use the eye color bundles).

• Greet the guests. Hostess does microdermabrasion on the back of the right hand only and sends guest to you. Match her foundation / select appropriate gift bag color while each guest completes her profile.

CLEANSE & MOISTURIZE We’ll start with your cleanser. You’ll just smooth this over the RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE ONLY, PLEASE, then rinse with water. Don’t forget to take your cloth!

(Velocity, TW C/O … Drop small amount onto fingertips.) Add a little water to this, suds it up, smooth it onto the RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE ONLY, PLEASE. Don’t forget to take your cloth with you.

(REPAIR … pea size on tray.) Scoop up, add water to foam it up, smooth it on RIGHT SIDE of the FACE AND THROAT! Rinse well.

THE EYES Do you mind if we try some of my very favorite bag busters before we finish up with our Miracle? I think you’ll love these as much as I do!

wri0en in sharpie every 1 1/2 inches around the container of the Mineral Powders.

On the sides of my caddy, I keep my placemats, my Color Insider book for makeovers,

my founda�on shade pages, my hostess info, any other papers I may want to have handy.

On one end of my caddy are sales �ckets and profiles.

On the other end of my caddy are applicators and ink pens with my product labels on them.

How to Match Foundation

First, find her undertone: yellow, olive, pink, golden, warm. Second, find her skin tone: ivory, beige, bronze. Third, ask yourself if she is light or dark in that tone. Forth, test the color on her jawline, blending WELL. If it disappears, it is the right shade. If it looks “dirty,” it is too dark. If it looks “washed out” or “chalky,” it is too light. Stay in the same undertone as you go lighter or darker. Undertone: Do you burn or do you tan? Or do you burn, then tan? Burn = pink burn, then tan = neutral / yellow tan = olive

Is she Ivory? Beige? Bronze? Is she LIGHT or DARK in that range?

If she tans and has a reddish chest area, use Beige 3 or Beige 8 … if these won’t match, go to Medium 404.

These are guidelines, and it is fine to do a “stripe test” with 2 or 3 colors on the jawline (for ivory / beige) or the cheek (for bronze) to see which one is best. Blend those stripes!

Matte = Norm to Comb, very lightweight, okay oil control Luminous = Dry to Norm, looks dewy, “the J-Lo glow” Medium = Norm to Oily, excellent color block & oil control Mineral = Norm to Comb, no oil control, can use on top of Matte or Medium as a finishing powder Cream to Powder = Norm to Comb, use with damp sponge to get a more sheer application. Minimize what you order: Just get a few of the “other formulas” but ALL of the Matte. Build the ones you sell a lot of. (Medium: 104, 200, 304, 404, 600. Mineral: Iv 2, Bg 1, Bg 2, Br 2. Cream to Powder: Iv 2, Beige 2. Tinted Moist: Iv 2, Bg 2.)

• Beige 1 is LIGHTER than Ivory 7.

• If you can NOT match in liquid, use Medium Coverage.

• Beige 404 is the GO-TO color for a tanner with reddish chest.

I used a circle for the cap and a circle on the back side of the tube, careful

not to cover the formula stripe (pink for Luminous, purple for Ma0e).

The circles I found at Wal-Mart for less than $2. the pack had pink (pink

undertone), yellow (yellow undertone), and green (olive undertone).

For the bronze, I used orange for the golden and green for the warm.

I wrote on my circles before I applied them to the tubes.

This label, for example, tells me that this is my

Ivory 202 Medium Coverage founda�on,

and it is equivalent to the Ivory 5 Ma0e shade.

It would be a green s�cker because

202 / Iv 5 are an olive undertone.

For Mineral Powder, I wrote the shade

with a Sharpie marker every 1 1/2 or so

around the container. Any way the

container is si>ng in my caddy, I can

quickly see the shade and get what I

need. On the LID , I wrote the shade

and the Ma0e equivalents for easy color

matching.
