Elected Officials

Macomb Township’s Board of Trustees consists of seven elected officials, including: Supervisor Frank J. Viviano, Clerk Kristi L. Pozzi, Treasurer Leon Drolet, Trustee Frank A. Cusumano Jr., Trustee Nancy J. Nevers, Trustee Peter J. Lucido, and Trustee Charles Oliver.

Board members serve four year terms.

The Board of Trustees meets for regular meetings the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month.

Assessing Department

The Assessing Department is responsible for identifying and valuing all taxable real and personal property within the Township . Taxpayers may dispute their Assessed and/or Taxable Values before the Board of Review. The Board of Review meets each year, beginning the second Monday in March for a minimum of three days. Every taxpayer will receive an Assessment Notice by approximately March 1st, each year. This notice will include the dates and times, which the Board of Review will be meeting. Hearings are held by appointment only.

Duties and responsibilities of the Clerk are defined by state statues, and include, but are not limited to administering elections, providing free notary services, and maintaining Township records.

The Building Department is responsible for inspecting any construction that a permit is taken out for in Macomb Township. This includes any building, plumbing, heating, or electrical work that is done in Macomb Township.

Treasury Department

The Treasurer's office is solely responsible for the receipt, deposit, control and disbursement of all receipts (taxes and all other revenues) of the Township on a daily basis. The Treasurer collects taxes for all taxing units within the Township, such as the Chippewa Valley, L'Anse Creuse, Utica, and New Haven Schools.

Trash & Recycling Services

Green For Life Environmental (GFL) provides trash pickup in Macomb Township for residential single household dwelling units.

Our residents now have a direct line into GFL Waste Services. This dedicated line will be staffed with personnel who know our contract and services inside and out and can answer your questions with ease. They can be reached by phone at: 586-825-9521.

GFL Environmental online bill pay site https://gflenv.com/welcome-to-new-gfl-experience/ . This site is external and run by GFL Environmental. Direct all billing questions to GFL Environmental.

GFL will pick up trash in any container (including bags, bins, cans or carts) and recyclables in any container (bins and containers) as long as trash and recyclables are clearly separated and all is out at the curb by 7am on your designated pickup day. Additionally, any Macomb Township resident who is in need of a recycling container may contact GFL directly.

Parks & Recreation

The Macomb Township Recreation Center is a 92,000 square foot facility providing both residents and non-residents with a wide array of recreational activities and amenities. The state of the art Recreation Center facilitates a fitness center, 2 gymnasiums, 3 birthday party rooms, 2 aerobics rooms, an indoor playground, meeting space, a feature pool, an activity pool, a lazy river, water slide and a hot tub. The Recreation Center staff prides itself in providing a safe, clean, family-friendly environment. The Recreation Center is visited by several hundred people daily and several hundred thousand people per year.

The Macomb Township Recreation Center also acts as the headquarters for Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department and is the host of several special events held throughout the year.

An active membership or daily admission pass is required for both Macomb Township residents and non-residents to enter the facility and use its amenities. There are several membership options to choose from; such as monthly and annual memberships, along with trial and summer memberships.

To Register:

1. Walk-In Registration at the Macomb Township Recreation Center2. Mail-In Registration using the US Postal Service3. On-Line Registration by logging in at register.macomb-mi.gov

How to set-up your Household Account?

Go to register.macomb-mi.gov

1. If you have a Recreation Center Membership your Household Account is already setup in our NEW registration software. You WILL have to click “Reset Password” the next time you “Sign In”.

2. If you DO NOT have a Recreation Center Membership follow the instructions below;

1. Go to register.macomb-mi.gov and click the “Sign In” button located in the middle of the page

2. Click the “Create Account” button and follow the instructions to set-up your new Household Account.

3. You will also set-up a User Email and Password. You will then be able to “Sign In” anytime.

3. If you choose NOT to use a computer to set-up your Household Account, you may visit our friendly staff at the Macomb Township Recreation Center to assist you. Please consider having the Customer Information Form already filled out before arriving to the recreation center. Drop-In Senior Pickleball at the Recreation CenterPickleball is offered as a drop-in recreation program at the Macomb Township Recreation Center in Gymnasium A on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In order to participate in the pickleball program, patrons must either have a membership or purchase a daily admission fee to gain access to the facility.

Drop-In Pickleball Lessons Available• 1st and 3rd Monday each month between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.• Free to MTRC Senior Members – Daily Admission Fees Apply for

Non-Members. • Beginning seniors who are interested in receiving a lesson must

contact the recreation center to set-up a lesson with the instructor
