AUGUST 15TH - 17TH Consol Energy Arena

Friday and Saturday events start at 7:00 PM

Sunday events start at 4:00 PM

Doors open 90 minutes prior to the start.

Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association are bringing the Good News of Christ to Pittsburgh.

At past events, we’ve seen churches work together and communities changed like never before. We’re praying and believing that thousands will hear the Gospel and lives will be transformed for eternity.

If you are interested in attending, the sign-up sheet is in the parlor of Calvary or call the church office. Don’t forget to bring a friend! We currently have 25 people that have signed-up to attend.

Our Worship Service will again be a combined service with the First Baptist Church of McDonald and several other local churches. Rev. Amsler will be bringing the Word to us that day.

All members are invited to bring their own lawn chairs. Seating is also available on picnic tables for the worship service and for the meal.

A covered dish contribution to the common meal is requested. Those in attendance with a last name beginning with A-P should bring a starchy side, vegeta-ble or salad and those with a last name beginning with Q-Z should bring a dessert. Hamburg-ers and hotdogs are provided.

One common offering will be taken so all members are asked to use your regular offering envelope to make contributions to your respective church. All loose offerings will be given to the McDonald Meals on Wheels.

We are always looking for help with setup, grilling and so forth. If you are able to help, set up begins at 8:00 AM.

Our Trustees will be meeting on Saturday, August 23rd to load equipment and tables so they will be ready for Sunday morning.

Most importantly – invite a friend to join us for this fun Worship in the Park!

2014 VBS UPDATE & PICTURES

Our Vacation Bible School was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who attended and who helped to put it together, especially our Director Heather Weiler. We had 97 kids in attendance on Monday, July 28th and are hoping for well over 100 children and teens by Friday. Check out the pictures below to get a taste of what we did.

More pictures are available on our Facebook page!

This is the Sunday that our service of Worship returns to 10:45 a.m. and the Sunday School hour resumes at 9:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. in Trinity Center Sanctuary there will be a Rally Day gathering to launch the new Sunday School Year. The whole church is invited and we are looking forward to a dynamic and fun celebration. Don’t miss this exciting day of worship and fun! The 10:45 worship at Calvary Center will also high-

light some the accomplishments of the students over the summer.

SUNDAY ~ SEPTEMBER 7TH ~ 9:30 A.M.

The McDonald Borough 125th Birthday Celebration Committee extends a special thank you for the use of the Trinity Center sanctuary for the community choir concert and the opening of the 1989 time capsule. The weather prohibited the function to be held in Heritage Park as planned and McDonald Presbyterian Church came to the rescue! Thank you.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

PAGE 3 MCPRESBY NEWS

Our items for the month of August are SCHOOL SUPPLIES. Keep an eye out for all those Back-to-School deals! We have a surplus of notebooks from last year's Wal-mart donation, so...please focus more on pencils, crayons, and colored pencils. We are also in need of combs and bandanas.

Thank you for any and all donations. Any questions, please contact Michelle Unruh (412-221-4143). Packing Party is Sunday, November 2, 2014.

MCDONALD FOOD BANK ~ DONATION DRIVE UPDATE

From Nancy Turk: Thank you to everyone for the prayers, cards and delicious meals during my recent surgery.

What a great feeling it is to have our goal of 1000 items for the McDonald Food Bank surpassed... a total of 4,000 items and still counting!!! McDonald and surrounding communities, led by you, have done it. We collected $1,123.41 to purchase additional items. We have also sent $570 in checks made out directly to the food bank for the purchase of gift cards for groceries. Thank God for these blessings...and thank you. The suggested items for the McDonald Food Bank for August are canned meats or fish. All contributions are wel-comed. Please drop off your donation in the parlor of Calvary Center. If you have any questions, please contact Ed Nalesnick.
