PreludeAdagio from Piano Concerto No. 3 ……….….. W.A. Mozart (1756 – 1791), arr. Michael Woytiuk Welcome and Announcements
+Silent PrayerHow lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! O Lord of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you! Amen. From Psalm 84:1-4,8,12 (ESV)

The Lord Cleanses Us
+Confession of SinSilent PrayerCorporate PrayerO Lord, eternity is yours, so you cannot be ignorant of what we tell you. By confessing our own miserable state to you and acknowledging your mercy towards us we open our hearts to you, so that you may free us wholly, as you have already begun to do; so we may cease to be wretched in ourselves and may find our happiness in you. Therefore, we acknowledge our sin before you. In how many ways have we failed you, Our Lord? O Lord, the depths of our conscience lie bare before your eyes. Could anything of ours remain hidden from you, even if we refused to confess it? We should only be shielding our eyes from seeing you, not hiding ourselves from you. You have called us to be poor in spirit, meek, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, and peacemakers. Forgive us for every failure to be what you have called us to be, what the Lord Christ saved us to be, and what we ourselves, in our hearts desire to be for your sake. Forgive us, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. [Adapted from Augustine’s Confessions, XI, I; X, ii]
Declaration of PardonBlessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:1-2, 5b (ESV)

The Lord Converses with Us
Worship of God with Tithes and Offerings“Thy Way, Not Mine, O Lord” ………………..……. Tune: Invitation, Frederick C. Maker (1881)
To you I’ll bring my off ’ring of thanksgiving; With sacrifice I’ll call upon the Lord.I’ll pay the vows I made unto JehovahBefore His people all, O may it be!Within His courts, the house of the Lord,In midst of you, Jerusalem! Praise the Lord! Amen.Psalm 116:17-19/Tune: Pilgrims
*Congregational Petitions and the Lord’s PrayerOur Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)
Scripture Lesson Matthew 5:1-12 (ESV)
5 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The Lord Communes with Us The Lord’s Supper Procedure· The order will generally be the balcony, and then the main floor starting in the back.· There will be two lines, with congregants entering via the inside aisle and returning
to their seats via the outside aisles. · There are two options for bread: regular bread on the plate or packaged gluten free
bread marked “GF” in the basket. There are two options for the cup: wine in colored cups or juice in clear cups.
· The mobility impaired will be served in their seats after the line ends. Please be sure to alert one of the servers if you have that need
You are welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper if you are a baptized Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a faithful member or adherent of this or some other congregation, recognized as belonging to the fellowship of Christian believers. If this does not describe you, we are glad you are here and commend to you this prayer for your use during the time of the Lord’s Supper. The pastors or elders would love to talk to you further about this after the service. Please introduce yourself to one of them.
Lord Jesus, help me to see that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit, but that through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment on the cross, and offering me forgiveness and new life. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, help me now to trust in you as my Savior and my King. Amen.

+Silent PrayerLet Your Gospel, O Lord, come unto us, not in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, Thou art mindful of the weary heart. Hear Thou, my pleading, and of Thy great bounty impart; O Thou who heedeth all, now hearken to me. Come, forsake not the weary heart. Come, in answer to my call; O hear me, Lord, be mindful of the weary heart. Take Thou my hand to lead me on the way. Bring to me all Thy joy and peace unending. Turn not away from me, Hear my fervent prayer and hear Thou my call. I trust in Thee! O answer now my plea! Frank J. Coyle/J. S. Bach, arr. Robert W. Gibb

Explanation of the Cover SymbolThe Shield of the Holy Trinity: Found frequently in stained glass windows of medieval churches, this emblem expresses the Christian doctrine of the triunity of Almighty God. Positively, two affirmations are made about each person of the Godhead. Reading from the center circle outward: God (Deus) is (est) Father (P is for Pater), God is Son (F is for Filius), and God is Holy Spirit (SS is for Spiritus Sanctus). Reading from the outer circles inward: The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. Negatively, two affirmations are likewise made about each person of the Godhead. Reading clockwise and counter-clockwise from one outer circle to the other two: The Father is not (non est) the Son or the Holy Spirit, the Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father or the Son.
