Props◦ A collection of flowers for a memorial of someone that has passed away. This includes several bunches of flowers. The

flowers will be used at the end of the video when the female character visits the memorial of her late partner. The chosen flowers will have to be types of flowers that would be seen at a grave, not flowers that would be used for celebrations. This is because it wouldn't be appropriate for the chosen theme.

• Musical instruments will be featured as props. We need to include a microphone, guitar, keyboard and possibly some drums. This is to be featured in the shot of the live performance of the band. Alternative rock / indie bands such as The Script usually include a scene with the band playing live, therefore we have incorporated this into our ideas. For example the image to the left is taken from the video for The Hall of Fame and it is a scene of the band performing in the video and props such as drums are included.

• Christmas items will be featured in the video. There is a scene of the couple in a flashback at a Christmas market. We are going to ask for permission to film in the Christmas Market at York. We would need to include a shot of the couple buying something at a stall. So we need to include a Christmas stall as one of the props. Also the lights in these shots may include Christmas lights and possibly the Christmas tree in York city. The couple could buy some candyfloss at one of the stalls. To the right are some images of what the Christmas Market has looked like in previous years.

• One of the scenes we are filming at is a country pub. In this scene the couple will be sat down having a drink. Therefore weneed props such as glasses of either wine, beer or a soft drink.

Costumes

◦ Both the main male and female character will be wearing casual clothes. This is because the video is set in an everyday environment. As the video is set in the Christmas period then warm winter clothes will be worn. Such as thick winter coats, scarfs, hats, trousers and jumpers. Throughout the flashbacks, the characters will wear a variety of different clothes to indicate to the audience that time is passing and the flashbacks occur on different days.

◦ In the shots were the female character is visiting the memorial, she will wear black or dark clothes because dark colours symbolise death. Also at a funeral or when visiting a grave people traditionally wear dark colours. This will suggest to the audience that the male character has passed away, this will make the storyline flow better and ensure that the audience don’t get confused.

The image to the right is an example of the music video ‘The Man Who Can’t be Moved’ by The Script. We are recreating this video and this is the kind of casual clothes that the actors are going to be wearing.

This screenshot is from the video ‘Secrets’ by One Republic. The female character in the music video is wearing casual winter clothes, which we want to recreate.
