It was really a very fruitfull year. We started cleaning up a wide area just in front of the main playground of our school (all together, parents, children and

teachers).

Then each class planted its own (lettuces, green salad, carrots, onions and more).

We took care of our garden through the last months. Also in cooperation with a non govermental institution letsgogreece.org we organized an action and expanded …planting flowers and trees

Dr. Jane Goodall is a British primatologist, ethologist, anthropologist, and UN Messenger of Peace and is considered the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. Dr. Goodall is regarded as one of the most important women scientists of the 20th century and as someone who through her actions and work, has contributed significantly to the international community.

Project 1 Garden …continued

An action and expanded planting flowers and trees.

And we are not done .. this year we created our environmental team to support and back up the action condacted now 100% by the children.

A part of the environmental team – the gardeners - look after the garden and guide everybody who wants to participate.

Dr. jane Goodall in Greece …. continued This rare presentation by Dr. Goodall, was held on the 16th of December in ACS school,

dedicated to students and educators, who had a once-

in- a-lifetime opportunity to hear her and to

meet with her.

In the audience of course our environmental team!!!! (JGI) is a global nonprofit focused on inspiring individual action to improve the understanding, welfare and conservation of great apes and to safeguard the planet we all share. Its mission is based in Dr. Jane Goodall’s belief that the well-being of our world relies on people taking an active interest in all living things

As an additional action to garden (and towards sustainability) we re activated in 2016 a compost bin (our second try).

We had an one day session with a non govermental group on how when, what to put in and we activated the bin we had.

Creating compost prooved to be a big success.

Kids showed great interest and after just one month we activated a second bin –donated by the parents-.

In October our compost was ready to help our garden grow!

And we are up to lots of more!
