Library Activities Speakers in the Library Sarah Webb, author of adult and young people’s fiction came to speak to 2 nd years on February 26 th . She spoke about her work as a writer, her favourite reads and the new Amy Green series. 4 th years attended a talk by Mary Mulvihill, author and well-known science journalist on World Book Day March 4 th . Her books include Lab coats and Lace and a popular book on green issues, Drive like a woman, shop like a man. Murder Mystery Event To celebrate World Book Day a Murder Mystery Event took place in the library. Gaisce library volunteers, Catherine Beagon and Maiss Alshareefy directed operations.   • Library News Book Clubs Two Book clubs are now up and running in Beaufort School Library – one for 1st years and one for 2nd years. The book clubs meet on a monthly basis at lunchtime. Reading choices and interests vary widely. Some popular reading choices, so far, were:

    Student Council To open up communication lines between the student body and the library, we have invited two members of the Student Council to liaise with the library for their meetings. The two members – Maeve McCarthy 5T (Senior Rep) and Aisling O’Leary 1Q (Junior Rep) - will communicate any points of interest to the librarians when the Student Council meet, and vice versa.
