A detailed account of the issue the social action project is trying to erase (look at stats and facts on the issue within the area)The EU Youth Strategy has two overall objectives, to provide more and equal opportunities for young people in education and in the labour market and to encourage young people to be active citizens and participate in society.The strategy proposes initiatives in eight fields of action: education and training, employment and entrepreneurship, health and well-being, participation, voluntary activities, social inclusion, youth and the world, creativity and culture.
Background on the Social project itself – Why it was set up; who set it up and funding(information taken from http://ec.europa.eu/youth/youth-in-action-programme/overview_en.htm) Youth in Action is the EU Programme for young people aged 15-28 (in some cases 13-30). It aims to inspire a sense of active citizenship, solidarity and tolerance among young Europeans and to involve them in shaping the Union's future.Youth in Action is a programme for all! It promotes mobility within and beyond the EU borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue, and encourages the inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background.Youth in Action is the successor of the YOUTH Program (2000-2006). Building on the experience of the previous programmes for youth, Youth in Action is the result of a large consultation with the different stakeholders in the youth field and aims to respond to the evolutions and needs of young people at European level.With a total budget of 885 million euros for seven years (2007-2013), the Programme supports a large variety of activities for young people and youth workers through five Actions .
Who is involved with the project?FUNDED BY THE EUROPEAN UNION, YOUTH IN ACTION IS AN INCLUSIVE PROGRAMME FOR YOUNG PEOPLE. IT PROMOTES MOBILITY WITHIN AND BEYOND THE EU'S BORDERS, NON-FORMAL LEARNING AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE.
What effects has the project had on the community?Every year the Youth in Action programme provides opportunities for young people and youth organizations.
How has it helped certain individuals?These young people carried out a Youth Initiative to make things better in their neighborhood and changed their own lives, here is a story from one of the young people helped:
“Before I started photography, I was shy and now, through being involved in this project, I have learnt to communicate with other people.I used to use the photography darkroom at the Youth Centre at Howardian, Cardiff. However, after the sudden closure, there was nowhere for young people like me to go to. This was very stressful. I have autistic spectrum disorder, photography was a big part of my life and I was very sad about what had happened. I helped think up the project, Click4Inclusion, and decided that other young people like me should be able to get involved. Through Youth in Action funding, we set-up our own darkroom, ran practical photography workshops, discussions, field trips and have our own exhibition.”

It represents the best aspects of the American people and international goodwill, contributing, managing, and operating essential services and activities for all members of communities afflicted by conflict, isolation, and poverty.)
Background on the Social project itself – Why it was set up; who set it up and funding
Tomorrow’s Youth Organization (TYO) enables children, youth, and parents in disadvantaged areas of the Middle East to realize their potential as healthy, active, and responsible family and community members.In 2008, SOW first partnered with TYO to document progress on their Clinton Global Initiative commitment made by Hani Masari in 2007 to improve the lives of the next generation living in the Middle East. In 2008 he opened the doors to Tomorrow’s Youth Organization and SOW produced a video that screened at the 5th Annual CGI Conference.In 2011, SOW partnered with TYO again to introduce new TYO initiatives as well as a creative and authentic, comprehensive video and photo package that would highlight different aspects of TYO programming. SOW also produced 7 finished videos ranging from CGI commitment, community impact, internship, volunteer program, and the new Fostering Women Entrepreneurs in Nablus program, which is in cooperation with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women.
Who is involved with the project?NADINE OKLATYO LEBANON PROJECT MANAGERNADINE IS THE PROGRAMS MANAGER OF TYO LEBANON, AN INDEPENDENT LEBANESE NON-PROFIT THAT SHARES TYO’S MISSION AND JOINTLY PURSUES WORK WITH TYO.
INAS BADAWIPROGRAM ASSISTANTINAS IS A NATIVE OF NABLUS AND GRADUATED FROM AN-NAJAH UNIVERSITY WITH A DEGREE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION.
SAMIN MALIKPROJECT COORDINATORSAMIN JOINED TYO AS A SUMMER 2011 INTERN. HER AFFINITY FOR THE REGION BEGAN AS AN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT OF MIDDLE EASTERN HISTORY AT UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, WHERE SHE GRADUATED 2007.
What effects has the project had on the community?Since this organization has been in progress 6,000 lives have been changed. As parents, children, volunteers and interns have all benefited from the organization's mission and purpose and also from the employment and many career opportunities
How has it helped certain individuals?Here is a story taken from the official website of this organization, in which one dedicated member of the organization explains how this organization has changed his life. I remember when TYO chose me to go the computer camp in Amra on Rafidia street. Rafidia is in Nablus but it is so far from my house. At TYO, I met children from the refugee camps; I met foreigners in the center. And I realized that foreigners are different from Israelis. I’ve learned not to generalize.I have also discovered talents I didn’t know I had. Now I can draw and enjoy art. I did not know that I love taking pictures. I had a dream to swim, but TYO made my dream a reality. They took me to the pool for the first time in my life. Today, I know what I love to do. And I also learned that I am so good at downloading pictures on the computer. I feel that I have many things to share with others my age. I always talk to my cousin and share what I’ve been learning but also, that it’s good to be different. I also noticed a big change in my family.

Can you follow a volunteer or member of the project?Yes. I am well connected with two members of the project and have been in touch with one of the key leaders of this organization.
What will your angle be? Informative, educational, change of attitude ......The angle of my action video will be to inform and educate the viewers about this organization. I will do this by providing interesting
footage about the organization and what they do and use the interviews to inform the audience.
Do they have any footage you can use for your video?On YouTube and Facebook there is some footage that has been previously used about the organization that I may use.
What issue does the community project want you to focus on?This community project will want me to uncover such issues as street and gang crime in high Wycombe that has been a result of youth neglecting within the community.
What ethical issues will you have to overcome or be careful documenting?I may struggle with:· Finding volunteers, willing to be interviewed or share their story for the cameras· Conducting a professional interview· Conducting a professional looking video in general
