important to recognize the signs of those who could

be vulnerable to predators or abuse. Using healthy

Community Kitchen Appeal Many thanks to all who responded to our Community Kitchen

Appeal. Your generosity will allow us to continue to feed the

hungry members of our local community and it shows your

genuine care and concern for our brothers and sisters. I want to

also express a sincere thank you to Don and Toni Adams for

their leadership and to the many volunteers who help to prepare

meals each Friday evening.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL

The members of the SVDP La Purisima Conference, would like to

thank everyone for the continuous support. Last year 2015, we were

able to assist almost 300 people. For a total of $30,541.00. With

your generous donations we helped with clothing, food, rent and utili-

ties. Keeping families clothed, warm, fed, and housed, is a gift from all

who have donated. We thank you in advance for donating to this won-

derful Ministry. God Bless! We are now going to begin our Toy drive

for our Christmas H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Provide Enough)

store. Last year we had 97 families, and over 250 children, that re-

ceived 3 toys each. It was such a success. The parents were allowed

to select 3 gifts per child and wrap them before leaving. These gifts are

at NO COST to the parents. If you wish to donate a gift, you may de-

liver them to the Pastoral Office, or to the pre-school.

Rosary for Change of Hearts

Everyone is invited to join our Catholic Daughters at 2 pm

every Monday to pray the Rosary for protection of all

expectant mothers and the babies they carry in their wombs.

Also for those who suffer from the evils of abortion, that they

will be open to God’s Infinite mercy and love. During this 40

Days of Life Campaign, we will alternate Rosary locations

between churches…Oct 24 at La Purisima Concepcion, end-

ing Oct 31 at Queen of Angeles.

MONTE CARLO NIGHT Saturday, November 5

th, 6 pm to 11 pm in the Parish Hall

Come and join in on all the fun and excitement. Evening

begins with a BBQ dinner followed by casino games

(e.g., Black Jack, Craps, Texas hold-em y Roulette).

Tickets are $50 per person and include a delicious, Chicken,

or Steak dinner and 2 beverages, and $250 in Gambling

chips. Raffle tickets are $1 each.

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY! In announcing his

decisions to declare a Holy Year of Mercy, Pope Francis said,

“Dear brothers and sisters, I have often thought about how the

church might make clear its mission of being a witness to mercy.”

Supporting the young churches throughout the world with your

prayers and generous gifts is indeed a merciful witness of this mis-

sion. The collection today will help missionaries offer the poor of

these areas practical help as they share the mercy of God. It will

ensure the development of local dioceses, and support the work of

priests, religious and lay leaders who serve those on the margins

and in most need. Extend your merciful witness to the whole world

through your gift in todays collection for the Society for the Propa-

gation of the Faith!

Magnificat invites all women to its quarterly breakfast, Feature guest Heidi Hill, A revert to Catholi-cism, who, with her husband, is steeped in the life of the church. DOMINGO MUNDIAL DE LAS MISIONES

Hoy es el domingo mundial de las misiones! Al anunciar su deci-

sión de declarar un año Santo de la Misericordia, el Papa Francisco

expreso: “ Apreciados hermanos y hermanas, con frecuencia he

pensado en como puede la Iglesia dejar clara su misión de testifi-

car en misericordia.” Apoyar a las iglesias jóvenes de todo el mun-

do con sus oraciones y generosos aportes es , de hecho, un testimo-

nio misericordioso de esta misión. La colecta de hoy ayudara a los

misioneros a ofrecer a los pobres de estas áreas ayuda practica

mientras comparten la misericordia de Dios. También asegurara el

desarrollo de la diócesis locales y apoyara el trabajo de Sacerdotes

y Lideres religiosos y laicos, quienes sirven a aquellos que están

marginados y que mas necesitan.
