A New Year!

This weekend we start back with our Religious Educa-tion programs. The students preparing for First Com-munion are eager to continue their journey on Sunday mornings between the two Masses. They enjoy their time with their teachers as they learn through book-work, games, and crafts. They also learn from you, the community of St. Peter, as they see how you love the Lord and cherish his presence in the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The Confirmandi also resume their classes, delving deeper into understanding the sacraments and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. The teens gather each Saturday af-ternoon to pray together, learn about saints, and grow in their Catholic identity. They also attend Mass together following class. For some it was their first time to do so in English. The RCIA group is a wonderful mix of teens and adults seeking baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirma-tion. They have had a series of guest speakers who pre-sent aspects of our Catholic faith. Parishioners have joined us on the journey to Easter and shared the rich-ness of their faith, becoming models for our beginners.

In the Gospel today, we read “The Word be-came flesh and made his dwelling among us…filled with enduring love. As you place your gift in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box, know that you are a sign of God’s enduring love to those who are suffering and you give them reason to believe

and to trust.
