In their prayers, they do not ask for vic- tory—but to perform their best in accordance with Divine Will. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is one approach to acquaint high school and college athletes with the power of faith. The organization was founded in 1954, through the in- spiration of Don McClanan, young basketball coach at Eastern Oklahoma A & M. Among outstanding sports figures who have supported the group or attended its annual con- ference are Branch Rickey, Otto Graham, Robin Roberts, Bob Pettit, Bud Held, Doak Walker, Paul Dietzel, Pete Elli- ott and Alonzo Stagg. Two hundred young athletes attended the annual con- ference in 1956; over 600 attended this year, at Estes Park, Colo.
