WHEREAS, Dr. R.Leduc, Y.P., the Member for Wright, has submitted for the consideration of the Honourable Minister of Public Works, Dominion of Canada, a request to the effeet that a certain amount be spent for the impravement of some four miles of tourist roads within the confines of the Munic1paLity of the Town of Aylmer and as indicated on the covering plan.

THEREFORE and acoordingly this Municipal Council pray the Quebec Municipal Commission to aŒthorize the contracting with the Provincial Bank of Canada, Aylmer, Quebec, of a Revolving credit not exceeding $ 4.~55.20 as for exclusive payment of direct relief, in cash, during the future, and as guarantee against this credit, Counbil promises to rremit to said Bank ail grants receivable from the Provincial and Federal Governmehts, for all expenses of direct relief after date of the present decis ion;

It i6 further res olved that the Mayor and the Secretary-Treasurer be atItborized to sign documents' or notes that may require signature after first having this reso luti on legally approved;

It ia further asked that the Bank be asked to make the afore~entioned loan at a rate of 4t% interest;

I.t is further asked that the Quebeo Municipal Commis ai on pray "the Board of Economie Reconstruction to pey the 4*% interest on all the necessary direct relief loans aince no provision for interest on direct relief loans Ls included in the 1939 budget of the Town of Aylmer.

THAT whereas. the.Board of Economie ReconstructiDn has been requested under d~te of December 4th, 1939, meeting number 449, resolution number 12, this Municipal Council to authorize a grant of $ 4,678.80 to cover the distribution of relief in the Town of Aylmer for the month of January, 1940; . '

~REFORE and accordingly this Municipal Council pray the Quebec Muni~ip,al Commission to authorize the contracting with the Provincial Bank of Canada, Aylmer, Quebec, of a Revolving credit not exceeding' $ 4.678.80 as for exclusive payment of direct relief, in cash, during the future, and as guarantee against this credit, Council promises to - remit to aaid Bank a11 gr~a receivable from the Provincial and Federal Governments, for all expenses of direct re1ief after date of the-present decision;

TEAT, in view of the Unemployment relief situation locally and the present Winter outlook, this Municipal Council is of the opinion that the 1940 Snow removal operatioJns for Uain Street, Aylmer wi th Messrs~ the Hull Electbic Company should be similar to the working plan of 1936 and 1937;

THEREFORE be i t resol ved: THAT t his Municipal Council appr o vea of the following working plan for 1940 Snow removal operations, as follows: ' l The Hull Electric Company shall supply the teams. sleighs and

boxes for drawing away the snow. 2 The Town of Aylmer sha1l furnish relief labour to load the snow

boxes. 3 The Working agreement s bal l be for the Winter of 1940 only and is

terrninable with the cessation of the peyrnent of Unemployment relief. 4 Foll~ling the cessation of the payment of Unernployment relief

during the Winter of 1940, Messrs. The Hull Electrie Corn. shall bear all the costs of snow removal from Main St. Aylmer in the same manner as heretofore.

5 The present working agreeoent for 1940 snow removal operations is entirely without prejudice ta the prOVisions of a~ present agreement or contract which may exist between the Hull Electric Company and the Town of Aylmer.

THAT VIHEREAS, AND CONSEQUENTLY, the Secretary-Treasurer has asked for priee quotations on a minimum carload of 40.000 pounds of Sulphate of Alumina in the 8ame manner as heretofore and ~s received the following quotations:

U.S. fUnds, F.O.B. car at Aylmer, Que.

THEREFORE, this Municipal Council does hereby authorize the Secretary-Treasurer to purchase 40,000 pounds of Sulphate of Alumina from the firm of Messrs. Nichols Chemical Co. Ltd., whose priee quotation of 1.55 per 100 pounds has been found to be the most economic and to meet the local requirements.
