In accordance with resolution 13, meeting no. 51?, of the Municipal Counoil of the Town of Aylmer, Public Notioe is hereby given to the effect that a general sitting of the Munioipal Counoil shall be held on Monday Evening, August the 2nd, 1943 at 8 p.m. in the Municipal OOunoil Chambers at the Town Hall. .

At this same meeting, the By-Law to provide for authoriza­ tion of the construotion or improvement work or oontract of the Paving of Main Street, Aylmer, Que. and for the appropriation of the moneys required for paying the cost of said paving, from the funds which the Town of Aylmer has on hand and not otherwise appropriated and this without imposing any special tax upon the whole Municipality or upon the property-owners liable for the cost of such works shall be introduced and read twice before being passed.

WHEREAS this Council has deemed advisable and in the publio interest to undertake theIefeotion or the paving or Main Street, in the Tov.n of Aylmer., r rom the Easterly limi t or the Tovm to a distance or rorty reet East or the end of the wharf, near the Ottawa River, with bituminous conorete, on the width existing between the sidewalks on eaoh side or the street;

WHEREAS part or the street to be paved viz on a wldth of eighteen reet is ocoupied by the Hull Eleotric Company and that part or the work should be paid by the said Company;

WHEREAS the costs or said warks have been estimated by the Engineer of Highway Division No. "34, Mr. Prevost r rom the Depart­ ment of ~uebec Highways, to an estimated amount of $13,344.00;

WHEREAS said part or Main Street in the Town of AyLmer fonns part of ~uebec Highway No. 8p and is known as the Hull­ Challeau Highway;

WHEREAS the Department of Hi§hways in Q,uebec has agreed to pay 50% of the cos t s of· said warka to be made under the supervision and control of the Town;

WHEREAS the Town of Aylmer has in its runds the necessary monies to pay its share in the said warks without making any loan and imposing any taxes;

WHEREAS notice of Motion has been given at a previous sitting of this Council that the said by-law would be submitted;

IT IS BY THESE PRESENTS declared, ordered and ordained as follows:

10 The Couneil of the Town or AyLmer is by these presents authorized to proceed with the warks of paving of Main Street with bituminous concrete, on all its width between the sidewalks, rrom the Easterly liIilit or the Town to a distance of fort y :feet East or the end of the wharr leading to the Ottawa River, as per report of the Engineer attached to these presents;

20 The said \rorks shall be under the supervision and control of the Counc~~ and the monies required to pay the materials and the wages will be taken out o:f the monies actually on hand for said warks and from temporary" loans, if necessary, and made with the authorization of the Council by resolution;

30 The costs of said works shall be divlded as follows:-

Al All the costs of toundation and of paving on a width of eighteen feet where are the tracks of the Hull Electric Company, unless othervnse provided, shall be paid ta the Council by the Said Company;

BI 50% of the balance of the said works and paving shall be paid by the Town of AyLmer out of the manies actually in the general runds of the Corporation which have been appropriated to this e:f:fect;

cl 50% of the balance of said works and paving shall be payable by the Quebec Department of Highways aecording ta previous understanding in this regard, and to be paid after the work vnll have been completed;

40 The said warks should start immediately and proceed without any interruption under the supervision of the Engineer appointed by the Council;

50 The said by-law has been duly approved by th& Q,uebec Municipal Commission and will come into e:f:fect immediately.

B) 50% de la'balance du coût desdits travaux sera payé par la ville d'Aylmer à même des argents actuellement comptées dans les fonds généraux de la Corporation et devant servir au dit projet;

C) 50% de la balance du cont desdits travaux de pavage sera 'payable par le département de la Voirie à Q,uébec, d.'après les ententes à cet effet et aussitôt les travaux complétés.

40 Lesdits travaux èvraient commencer immédiatement et procéder sans interruption et SeDS la surveillance de l'Ingénieur nommé par le conseil;
