KOP Surface Products is a leading global supplier of surface wellheads, trees, valves and actuators to the oil and gas industry. We provide full life-of-field support to customers, including installation, maintenance, rental and refurbishment services. Our client list includes some of the biggest names in the industry and our products and quality programs comply with the highest international standards.

We are part of Akastor, a Norway based oil-services investment company traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Akastor was formed following the demerger of Aker Solutions ASA in September 2014, and subsequently has been established as an investment company.

Akastor owns a number of other companies in the oilfield services sector, including MHWirth, the drilling systems and lifecycle

services supplier; and AKOFS Offshore, a provider of vessel-based subsea well construction and intervention services.

KOP Surface Products has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Batam, Indonesia and our operational headquarters is in Singapore. Our workforce of over 500 team members is divided between our manufacturing and operational sites, as well as our network of sales and service offices around the world. With over 7,000 installations in more than 20 countries and a client list that numbers over 170, we are among the leading specialists in our field.

About Us

Our plantOne of our biggest assets is our large,

state-of-the-art manufacturing facility

located in Batam, Indonesia. This multi-

million dollar development covers over

22,000 m2 and houses a manufacturing

plant, a test-and-assembly workshop,

a training facility, and an administration

centre. It meets or exceeds many

of the best-regarded international

standards, including ISO9001:2008,

API Q1, API16A, API6A, ISO14001

and OSHAS 18001. Utilizing the latest

CNC machinery and employing lean

manufacturing techniques, the Batam

plant has a production capacity of well

over 1,500 units a year, with the scale,

quality, and operational excellence to

meet any customer requirement. The

majority of machining work is handled

in-house, managed in accordance with

our strict quality control processes.

Welding and cladding is also done

in-house for further quality assurance.

In addition, the Batam plant has full

capability for both hydro- and gas-

testing. The facility has also recorded

over 9.5 million operational hours

without lost time injury (LTI), underlining

our commitment to both safety and to

manufacturing excellence.

Our products

Conventional wellhead systems:

• Field-proven internal “straight- bore” profiles

• Suitable for casing heads, casing spools and tubing spools for maximum flexibility and user convenience

• Suited for a range of pressures from 2,000 psi to 15,000 psi

Unitized wellhead systems:

• Can be used in either offshore or land-based applications

• Surface Metal Seal (SMS) system offers metal-to-metal sealing capable of withstanding pressures up to 15,000 psi

• Surface Elastomer Seal (SES) system offers similar performance at higher cost-effectiveness

Splitter wellhead systems:

• Multi-bore wellhead which allows drilling of two or more well from same conductior

• Can use existing slots, or new and existing platforms

• More cost-efficient

• The Splitter lateral slim twin and ultra slim wellhead systems have over 3,000 installations worldwide

Gate valves:

• Complies with all requirements for use in any oil or gas field applications

• Metal-to-metal sealing

• Designed for pressures from 2,000 psi to 15,000 psi

• API 6A Annex F PR-2 qualified

• Applications include: wellheads, Christmas trees, and production flow lines

Shear-safe Hydraulic actuators:

• Pivot arm transmission system that offers greater resistance to breaking

• Higher levels of safety, reliability, and performance compared to conventional coil spring designs

• Can work in operating control pressures from 3,000 psi to 5,000 psi, and valve working pressures from 5,000 psi to 10,000 psi

• API 6A Annex F PR-2 qualified

Our servicesEquipment installation

Equipment is installed at our clients’ sites in the fastest, safest and most efficient way. Our industry-leading team has a strong track record of delivering exceptional HSE performance at project sites. The comprehensive installation service includes support for any workover operations; casing cutting services; and wellhead documentation for regulatory auditing.

Maintenance

Our specialized maintenance services include scheduled programs for re-certification and documentation for regulatory auditing. Lubricator services are also offered, as is training. We also offer a Total Vendor Management program and the Preservation, Storage and Management of customer assets.

Rental

Our Rental Tool Pool includes exploration systems and tools, lubricator packages for both back pressure valves and valve removal, and casing cutter packages. We also have cross-overs, test pumps and chart recorders, plus a full stock of spare parts. Equipment can be modified to suit customer needs.

Repair and refurbishment

We offer refurbishment and repair of all types of wellhead equipment and Christmas trees, and all work carries a 12-month warranty. In addition, we offer hydro and gas testing of valves, cross-overs and risers, and we can facilitate the cutting and re-cutting of tubular threads.
