History

Originally under the name GCI (Global Consultants, Inc.), Collabera opened for business in 1991, providing information technology services to companies worldwide. The company was purchased by Hiten Patel in 1997 for $2 million and grew into a $520 million company by 2014.

Shortly thereafter, in 2007, GCI began a series of company acquisitions, including IVL India (for SAP Services)., Planet Asia, and Blue Hammock (for Strategic Consulting). In 2008, GCI changed its name to Collabera.
