Why attend KM Legal 2010 ?

The last 18 months have been very challenging for law firmsand law firm knowledge professionals, but as the UK officiallyemerges from the recession, albeit only just, and we enter anew decade, firms are finally starting to look forward and at last

there is a feeling of hope.

Nonetheless, a changing legal landscape and a difficulteconomic climate has dramatically changed how legal servicesare being delivered. With the added client pressure on fees, firms are being forced to look for alternative ways of doingthings that will attract and retain an ever meaner, better informed, and more powerful client.

Strategies including disaggregation, reengineering andoutsourcing are developments we’re seeing more of, with theultimate aim of driving efficiency and minimising costs. Thisis where knowledge management can play an integral role inleading these developments and shaping the future of legal

service delivery, and potentially of the legal profession itself.

The KM team have an overarching understanding of howmatters are managed and so they’re ideally placed to be ableto unpick and streamline work flows and working practicesso they’re more efficient and cost-effective for the firm.Consequently, this isn’t just about new ways of working for thelawyers, it’s also about new ways of working for KM.

Featuring a range of leading law firms, in-house

counsel and KM experts, highlights for 2010

include:

Harriet Creamer of Outer Circle and Chris Stoakes*of Lovells LLP: How can KM drive efficiency in mattermanagement to support alternative fee arrangements?Baker & McKenzie LLP, Eversheds LLP and Allen & Overy*LLP: Outsourcing law firm knowledge, research and legalprocessesPutting the concepts from “No More Consultants” into*practice: Chris Collison of Knowledgeable LtdExamining law firm client expectations and needs:* BarclaysGroup Legal, HSBC and Virgin Media LimitedOz Benamram of White & Case LLP, USA:* KM strategy andplans for 2010 and beyond; a practical experience

Featuring streamed breakout sessions and interactive paneldiscussions, this two-day event will enable you to share andhear other law firms’ experiences, tailor your learning in lightof differing delegate needs, and attend sessions in smallergroups.

So don’t miss KM LEGAL 2010 to ensure the continuedgrowth and success of KM for your firm. If you can only attendone event this year, this is the one to attend!

Coupled with an increasing need to drive efficiencythroughout the firm, is a continued need to drive efficiencywithin KM. So it’s essential that KM professionals are makingthe most of their resources and systems to deliver real value

for the business. While there seems to be a general trendof trying to do more with less (challenging enough in itself),KM professionals need to be looking ahead, planning foran upturn and building a business case for increased KMinvestment.

mnging prnr’s 11h annu km leGalvn has been carefully designed to explore thesedevelopments and complex challenges, to enable you to takethe lead and drive efficiency and streamline costs to delivermaximum value for your firm. Aimed exclusively at law firmKM professionals, this essential event will prepare you for thenext chapter of KM, to enable you to continue to grow KM for

your firm and to develop a KM model that’s sustainable anddeliverable for the years ahead.
