Look back at the first few pages of the story and take time to look at the picture of the Light House Keeper’s house and view. Today you are going to write a description of the house and view. Use different sentence types in your work as well as expanded nouns and different conjunctions.

Familiarise yourself with the story ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch from yesterday. Today you are going to write a job description for a lighthouse keeper.
Mr Grinling has a busy job. He needs to look after the lighthouse and spend a lot of time at the lighthouse on his own. Can you think of other things he may have to do whilst there? Use the Purple Mash link to write a job description for a lighthouse keeper. What makes a good light house keeper? Add these pointers to your job description.

Year 1
The animals that Little Red finds tell her about all of their problems, mainly that they don’t have enough of their natural habitat left. Can you research why trees are so important?
Use the internet and any books you may have to find our why trees are so important to the environment and it’s wildlife. Write your information on purple mash. This will help you with tomorrows activity.
Year 2
Watch the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch up until 1.19 minutes. Take time to discuss Mr Grinling’s tasty lunch. What do you think is in a ‘Light House Sandwich’?
Today you are going to invent a Light House Sandwich! What type of bread would you use? What would you fill the sandwich with? What makes it unique and better than any other sandwich? What does it taste like when you eat it? How many of the following writing features can you include in your work? -expanded nouns -conjunctions (and, but, because, so) -commas for lists -different sentence types (?.!)

Pencil to paper day. The Last Wolf is about our natural environment and trying to get us to think about what we can do to help it. Can you write a persuasive letter to the council explaining why they should plant more trees? Use your research from yesterday to help you.

Year 2
Read back through the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch once again. Do you think the seagulls were rather cheeky eating Mr Grinling’s lunch or do you think they were quite clever at helping themselves? Did you feel sorry for them when they tasted the mustard sandwiches?
Today you are going to write a diary recount as though you are a seagull! What would you be thinking if you were a seagull? Do you think the seagulls will ever go back to the basket? Share your thoughts in your writing.

Once Mathletics activities are complete children can make use of the whole website
to practise any areas of learning. Purplemash also has Maths activities that the
children can choose from.
There is a lot of variety here so that we can provide the opportunity for you to
choose the activities that suit your family and circumstances the best. We are not
expecting the children to complete all the activities but they can if they wish!

Map Skills: Design an outside camp for children to enjoy forest school adventures. What
different areas would you have at your base camp and why? Maybe it would have an
obstacle course? A bug hotel? Seating area? Draw a map and add a key.

Use the attached activity sheet to identify which category each feature belongs to eg. a
cliff is a physical feature because it is natural and a building is a human feature because it
is manmade.

Year Two Classes
This week we are still thinking about Islam and how they live out their faith in the world around
them. At the end if Eid il Fitur there is a special meal with friends and family following prayers at the
Mosque. At Eid people remember why they were fasting during Ramadan and celebrate this time of
