Sometimes planes are named after animals or birds which are like them, so a jaguar is an aeroplane which is well camouflaged and big jumbo jets are named after an elephant called Jumbo! Imagine you were decorating aeroplanes with different animals.

Using the trail We have tried to highlight the areas of the museum which are relevant to

your talk and provide activities for the children to do there – there is no expectation that any one class or group will complete the whole trail!

Hangar 4 – 10-15 minutes from the Visitor Centre, very close to Teaching Room 5.
