Project Ideas SERVICE

CKI is the older sibling of Key Club, kind of like the college version of Key Club, that is also

sponsored by Kiwanis. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI’s International fund-raiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children worldwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world. For more information or to find out if a campus has a Circle K, please visit circlek.org If the campus doesn’t, don’t worry, new Circle K clubs can always be founded.

School supply drive — Many young students in our communities go with-out adequate supplies each year because they are hard for their families to afford. To address this, your club can host a drive to collect new or in-good-condition supplies at the beginning and end of each school year. Supplies can then be donated in bulk to a local elementary school, since they’ll know how to distribute them best.

Thank a teacher—As students, nothing we do would be possible without

the help of our schools’ faculty and staff. Let each faculty member in your school know how much they’re appreciated by writing inspirational mes-sages of thanks inside personalized cards.

Kid’s booth — At the next community carnival or fair in your area, do some-

thing to keep the local kids busy. Offer to run a kid’s booth with games, face painting and plenty of crafts, all for free to ensure the event is fun for every-one.

For more ideas, visit keyclub.org and click the Service link in the Resources menu.

CIRCLE K

Do you know graduating member of Key Club who is very dedicated? Don't let them leave the Kiwanis family behind when they go off to college. Circle K International (aka CKI) is the premier collegiate and university community ser-vice, leadership development and friend-ship organization in the world. With more than 12,600 members in 17 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every day. CKI be-gan in 1936 as a Kiwanis club service project to provide an opportunity for capable, ambitious, and worthy young men to acquire a college education by assisting them, where necessary, with their financial problems, by means of a scholarship fund, if available, or securing part-time employment. Soon after the community service part of CI was introduced, CKI started to become what it is today.

LEADERSHIP

What is it? The Officer Information form or Election Report, is a form that every club is required to fill out after the election of their new officers. It contains all the names and contact information of your club officers and advisors. Why is it important? It is important to me, your LTG, because it gives me the contact information so that I can send important district updates to your club and so that I can invite your club to Divi-sional events and Officer Trainers. Who should fill it out? All of your club officers and advisors should fill out their information.
