Its an old joke that plays on the sound of the words rain/reign and Son/sun. But however bad a pun, it speaks a truth we need to know and live.

As Christians everyday is spent under God’s reign and in the shining presence of the Son, Jesus. Sometimes we fail to recognise these facts and let life’s difficulties rob us of the joy of the truth.

We need to encourage each other to keep the knowledge of the Father’s eternal love for us, revealed in the sacrifice of Jesus, in our hearts so that we can shine like stars to the glory of God.
