“A TREASURY OF MIRACLES FOR WOMEN,” KAREN KINGSBURY.A heart-warming collection of true stories about wondrous events

in the lives of ordinary mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, & friends.

CONGREGATIONAL BOOK REVIEW: DUANE NOERENBERGI READ THIS BOOK: “MY STORY, MY SONG,” LUCIMARIAN ROBERTS.Family, dealing with our past & segregation, Tuskegee airmen,

daughter Robin (GMA), & dinner every night with family includingcandles on the table – whether baked beans, hot dogs or steak – but, this is a good book & an easy read.

Being in the U.S. Army, attending college at Valparaiso University(IN) near Chicago, IL, and living & working in Philadelphia, PA, gaveme a perspective on dealing with segregation & its impact in the U.S.during that time – this book highlights how it affected Lucimarian, her family, & life. She tells a wonderful story about family & the gifts God gives to each of us to use for His work in thislife.

As I read, I recalled our first Family Ministry AiM at Holy Cross(Pat Eidsness) & her quoting a study about the importance of gathering the family for a meal, each day. This book related the importance of God, family, & vocation in our calling.

“THROUGH MY EYES,” TIM TEBOW WITH NATHANWHITAKER.Professional football player, Tim Tebow, details his early years as

the son of Christian missionaries, to his home-schooled upbringing, to his parents’ emphasis on developing his character & faith.

“CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE: PARENTING TO INSPIREVALUES,” DOROTHY LAW NOLTE.The author offers a powerful guide to parenting – by inspiring

values through example.

Remember to save and turn in your Crossroads receipts!Holy Cross receives 5% of the total amount spent to go toward the purchase of new books.

ADULT ED IN THE FALL: Planning is underway

for Sunday morning Adult Ed.If you would like to lead/facilitate a discussion, please contact Angie.

“THAT’S WHY I’M HERE: THE CHRIS & STEFANIE SPIELMANSTORY,” CHRIS SPIELMAN.A powerful story for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer

& for anyone whose faith has wavered in the face of adversity. It is theinspiring story of Chris & his late wife, Stefanie – a story of family, faith, & perseverance.

A WORD FROM MISS TRICIA...Summer fun fills the halls of Holy Cross as the children of

Holy Cross Lutheran Preschool & Extended-Care dive in to summerinvestigating God’s creations around us through summer camps andactivities allowing children the opportunity for smaller group, hands-on discovery & learning. During the month of June, the children have engaged in many fun activities off-campus. They haveattended McKennan Park’s Children Theater, “splashed into” various outdoor water activities, visited Yogi Bear Campground between Sioux Falls & Brandon, toured the Sioux Falls Pheasant stadium while learning fundamentals of baseball, attended a SiouxFalls Pheasants game as an HCLP family event, explored at the Outdoor Campus, and, of course, walked over & enjoyed DiscoveryPark. What fun it is to be a kid!

Outside of caring for & teaching the children of HCLP, here is what else we have been up to over the summer:
