STANFORD, Charles Villers JUBILATE DEO SATB/Organ

Stanford, a composer born in Ireland and working in England, was a significantfigure of the late Victorian period. His writing of cathedral music brought a newand fresh quality to the variously sentimental, bombastic, and sugary styles ofthe Victorian period's worship music. This Jubilate Deo is from Stanford'sComplete Service in Bb (1879), and with the other movements from that servicethat ended with an Amen, employs a version of the Dresden Amen.
