DURATION 2 HOURSPAGE 10F3

1.0 Experiment outcomes

At the end of the lab session students should be able:

1.1 Design Basic Electropneumatic circuit.1.2 Apply and demonstrate the electropneumatic circuit on the experimental board

2.0 Introduction / theory

Pneumatics are good for straight movements, but, with the right linkage can be used for rotation orother movements. Pneumatics are also used a lot in industry. It can be used to do lots of different jobssuch as moving, holding or shaping objects.

TITLEApplication of Electropneumatic Circuit

DURATION 2 HOURSPAGE 2 0F3

5.0 Procedures / Problem definition

Problem 1 : Stamping MachinePB1 will control the movement of stamping machine, lamp 1 and buzzer will ON with the process. The

stamping cylinder will retract by pushing PB2. Lamp 4 will ON and lamp 3 will be OFF when the Stamping

Machine back to normal position. Designan electropneumatic circuit that can solve the problem

Problem 2:Magazine Feeder

By pressing a start button, a workpiece is pushed away from the gravity feed magazine onto a

conveyor system. The cylinder returns automatically when it has reached the fully extended position.

Fully extended and retracted positions are sensed by limit switches LS1 and LS2. The Cylinder is

controlled by a 5/2 way valve double solenoid. Design an electropneumatic circuit that can solve the

problem.
