Interview Tips Personal Interview (PI): It is a direct dialogue between interviewer and interviewee. The interviewer tries to put the conversation in a particular direction to take out maximum infor-mation possible from the candidate. An inter-view can be structured - the interviewer leads the discussion and asks questions to the candi-date according to a questionnaire or script. Unstructured - The interviewer will give the initiative to the candidate. The interviewer may begin with the question: “Tell me about your-self” and then continue with general questions that arise depending on the progress of the conversation. Or a combination of both which is called semi-structured interview. The inter-viewer may use direct questions to get specific information about the candidate.

Ten (10) important questions for Personal In-terview are following: - 1. Tell me something about yourself? 2. What motivates you for studies? 3. What are your strengths and weaknesses? 4. How do you deal with criticism? 5. Have you faced failures in your life? What

lessons have you learnt from them? 6. What is your greatest achievement? 7. Where do you see yourself 5 years from

now? 8. Tell us an incident where you had a prob-

lem with your friends. How did you handle it?

9. Why are you interested to do MBA course? 10. How do you think you conducted or per-

formed during this interview?

“Success is not a day’s

corollary rather a hoard

of persistent efforts”
