The purpose of industrial visit is to

understand the industrial environment and

its day to day functioning like production,

processing, and manufacturing. It also gives

platform to interact with managers and gain

practical knowledge.

1971 under the flagship of Dilip G Piramal

Group. VIP’s product is divided into two cate-

gories premium and popular, which includes

a variety of hard and soft luggage. VIP manu-

factures suitcase, briefcase, travel bag, sky

bag, strolleys, Aristocrat luggage etc.

On 9th March, 2013 students of first

year went for an industrial visit at VIP Indus-

tries Limited, SIDCUL, Haridwar, Uttarakhand. At

the manufacturing plant a presentation was given

by the Sr. Manager – Human Resources Mr. Vi-

jayant Kumar VIP Industries Limited.

The students were accompanied by faculty Dr.

Excursion to Haridwar & Rishikesh

On 9th March 2013 a two day excur-

sion was conducted for MBA IInd Semester stu-

dents to Haridwar & Rishikesh. The journey

started early in the morning from campus with

fifty-two students accompanied by three facul-

ties Dr. Prachee, Prof. Anubhav and Dr. Charu.

Students enjoyed the five hour long bus jour-

ney to Haridwar with morning-scenic beauty

en-route. On reaching Haridwar the group

alighted near Har-ki-Pouri to reach their abode

for the trip at “Seth Anandram Jaipuria Smriti

Bhavan” located at Ramghat. It is a splendid

place owned and managed by Seth Anandram

Jaipuria Charitable Society which was setup in

1970. Despite being almost half century

old the bhavan has all modern amenities

for the comfort and luxury of tourists such

as fully furnished air conditioned rooms,

LCDs, in-house separate cafeteria, lift, an

exquisite traditional dining hall, two pri-

vate ghats and a beautiful temple well-

constructed on a sprawling five storeyed

building. After checking –in everyone be-

ing tired of the long bus journey got re-

freshed with the comfort and the warm

welcome of staff and their manager Mr.

Rakesh Vashisht. Afterwards the group

again re-assembled for the lunch at a

nearby restaurant.

In the evening faculties accompa-

nied students to Har – ki – Pouri where everyone

was enthralled with the consecrated exquisite-

ness of Ganges, ghats, the horde of devotees and

tourists who came down to watch the famous

‘Ganga-Arti’ of Haridwar and take a dip in the holy

river. The scene was enchanting with everyone

being engrossed in the divine aura of the place.

After ‘Arti’ students offered flowers with lighted

earthen-lamps to the sacred Ganges. Afterwards

some returned back to Smriti Bhavan to take rest

while most of them proceeded to the buzzing mar-

ket place near the ghats and enjoyed famous ka-

chauris, peda and locale. At night everyone assem-

bled in the dining hall where they were served

authentic north-indian dinner followed by dessert

that everyone relished to its fullest. The next day

was the festival of ‘Mahashivratri’ and everyone

got up early to take a dip in the holy Ganges at the ghat fol-

lowed by ‘Rudraabhishek’ after which they had their breakfast.

Around 11 the bus started for Rishikesh with the

group onboard but due to ‘Mahashivratri’ there was heavy

traffic on the way and it took two hours to reach there. In the

outskirts near ‘Lakshman Jhoola’ on a large picnic spot bus

halted and the group debarked. They roved the place in groups

and reveled the nature’s splendor. After spending some time

there everyone had their lunch and proceeded back for Gha-

ziabad. It was a refreshing excursion, a well-planned break

from the regular academic curriculum which also provided an

opportunity to the students to mingle with each other and to

work in a team cohesively.

A guest lecture was organized on 12th March 2013, Tuesday on the topic “From Campus to Corporate”. It was deliv-ered by Mr.Faizan Rasul, Zonal Head - Sales, Timesjobs.com, Noida. First year students interacted with Mr.Faizan who has around 12 years of corpo-rate experience. He gave inputs to the stu-dents on their career spanning and also stressed upon reasons to update resume’ and current developments in the environment. He also focused on how easy it is to get a job but little difficult to maintain it. Certain tips were

shared to build the confidence of the students for searching and applying for jobs. Students appreciated the topic and happily applauded to wel-come his answer to certain doubts, queries or reservations that they had. It was an open discussion wherein the major concern from the field was discussed.
