Junior <form> function() & .class (JFFC) will be the first web design conference for students in the Philippines, organized by TomasinoWeb (TomWeb) and the Philippine Web Designers Organization (PWDO).

JFFC is the student counterpart of PWDO’s <form> function() & .class which is the first community-organized web design conference in Asia. The JFFC conference aims to gather students around the country who want to develop their potential in the field of web design by learning from professionals and to interact with web design enthusiasts as well.

The event will be held at the AMV-COA Multipurpose Hall, AMV-COA Building, University of Santo Tomas, Manila on February 11, 2012.

TomasinoWeb is the official online-based student publication of the Univer-sity of Santo Tomas and a recognized university-wide organization which aims to contribute to education and the students’ pursuit of excellence through active involvement in electronic media and be one of the universi-ty’s sources of information based online. As the official online-based student publication of UST, TomWeb cover events and write articles for the Thomasian community and publish them online through their website, http://tomasinoweb.org. Being a recognized university-wide organization, TomasinoWeb aims to

contribute to the education and the students’ pursuit of excellence through

active involvement in electronic media and be one of the University’s im-

mediate sources of information based online. TomWeb is committed to

hone not only the leadership skills of its members but also their potential

in the fields of writing, digital arts, web development and photography.

The Philippine Web Designers Organization (PWDO) is a non-profit organization duly registered with the Philippines’ Securities and Ex-change Commission. It is composed of professional and aspiring web designers and user interface developers.

The PWDO envisions a strong and vibrant web design community in the Philippines. It aims to continuously strengthen the community, champion excellence in crafting web user interfaces, and uplift the state of web design in the Philippines. To achieve its objectives, the PWDO organizes events and meet-ups to educate and sharpen the skills and professionalism of Filipino Web designers and developers.

<program overview> Activities include an HTML 5/CSS 3 workshop, a talk about the basics

of web accessibility, the basics of JavaScript and careers in web design.

Professionals with expertise on the fields are invited as speakers on

each topic. Participants are highly encouraged to bring their laptops at

the venue. Outlets will be provided for your convenience.

The AMV-COA Multipurpose Hall is located at the 4th floor of the Alfredo M. Velayo Building in the University of Santo Tomas. The building is in front of the UST Hospital and almost beside the UST Main Building.

Conference rates:

Early bird rate (ends January 14, 2012): Php 300

Standard rate: Php 400 (ends February 4, 2012)

Walk-ins and late registrations: Php 500

3. You will receive a confirmation e-mail along with the e-ticket that will be presented at the event registration booth.

For group registrations, there will be one representative who will serve as the group’s main contact person.

E-tickets of each group member will be sent to the group’s main contact person.

Pre-registered participants will be given certificates on the event day. Walk-in participants are not guaranteed to receive their certificates on the event day and will have to claim the certificates a week after the event.

<event reminders> Participants are highly encouraged to bring their laptops for the

workshops.

UST implements a strict smoke-free campus policy. Strictly no smok-ing inside the campus.

UST has a strict dress code inside its buildings. Participants are ad-vised not to wear the ff:

Rubber slippers

Mini skirts

Shorts

Sleeveless and tube tops

Plunging neckline

For security reasons, don’t forget to bring your ticket and your school ID .

<event reminders> Participants who will be needing a parking space must inform the or-ganizers at least one month before the event.

Participants who would like to give a lightning talk (10 mins max) must inform the organizers at least a week before the event.

Some UST colleges advocates styro-free building policies. Participants are highly discouraged from bringing in food in styro packages.
