PARKWOOD NEWSLETTER
Happy New Year Everyone! This year we will be working hard to get all of our projects done. We have listed some of what we
will be doing this year and the estimated time to start each project.
We will continue our work throughout the park improving the road drainage issues, expanding
the garden beds and any unplanned maintenance where needed. Let us know if you have any suggestions about areas of the park that need a little
extra attention this 2017!
IMPROVEMENT WHEN
Remodel Gym Spring We will be moving the gym downstairs, adding new
flooring and new equipment!
New Gravel Ongoing Graveling the sides of the roads and parking areas
throughout the park
Bocce Ball Court Shade Early Summer We will be building a shaded area next to the court for
the Bocce Ball players.
New Flooring and Paint in the
Clubhouse
Summer 2016 was a busy year up at the Clubhouse and it is
due for some upgrades!
Straight from the Horses Mouth…
We have been approached by several tenants concerned about recent rumors that are
circulating the community regarding some of Parkwood’s policies. We would like to
address two most frequently asked and also remind you that they are written in the Rules &
Regulations.
“Why do you charge security deposits & can I get mine back?”
As of 2015 Parkwood, like any regular rental property, requires all new tenants to pay
security deposit. This holds tenants accountable to their lease and the Rules and
Regulations. Security deposits are refundable at the end of your lease/when you move out but
we do not refund deposits during the lease term.
“Can I park in my yard?”
No, we don’t allow anyone to park any vehicle in their yard at any time. If someone has been
parking in their yard it is not with park approval. PARKWOOD is a beautiful well maintained
community. Management works hard to maintain the common area facilities. You the tenants
take great pride in maintaining the quality of your homes. Allowing, cars to be parked in yards
would detract from the quality, and could negatively affect your home value.

This month while you are out and about, walking your dog, riding your bike or just out for a stroll keep your
eyes open for painted rock art. These rocks can be found in various locations around Parkwood. If you find
the ROCK OF THE MONTH, Please return it to the office and receive your reward. There will be other
painted rocks around the park and if you find one of these you may keep it if you wish, you may move it to
another location or leave it where you found it for others to enjoy. Each month we will post a new rock.
There is only 1 Rule… None of the Parkwood Rock Art will be placed in any resident lots, So if you see
rock art in your neighbors yards please admire it but do not take it. When you come upon the Parkwood
Rock Art and wish to move it please remember that it can not be
place on in a neighbors lot.
We will be having a rock painting day Friday January 27th at 1pm.
Rocks, paints and brushes will be provided all you need to bring is your idea’s. Please remem-ber to sign-up so we have an idea of how much
supplied we will need. There will be a sign-up at the clubhouse. Hope to see you all there. Joy

The Community News...
ROCK OF THE MONTH
Update on our Community Holiday Dinner What a great time friends, fun and food. There was more than enough to eat. The meal was
prepared by Dale, Bethany, Steve, Marsha, Susan, Bob and Joy. For dessert we had homemade pies (I was told there were 10 different kinds) all made by a local young lady who was trying to
earn money so her daughters could have a nice Christmas.
As gifts this year we had 12 theme baskets and 12 asst. gift cards from local stores.
Here is how it worked. As you entered you were given 3 tickets, after putting your name on the tickets you then picked the basket or baskets that you would like to win
and drop your ticket in the bag that went with that basket. A name was drawn from each basket. After all the
baskets where won, we than drew a name from each bag and that person would come up and pick a mitten off the mantel which had a gift card inside.
Now to announce the winners… Gift Baskets were won by:
The Cookie table was also a hit! We received over 16 dozen cookies to share with everyone. So many varieties and so
delicious!

To The Gibson Family,
We want to say Thank you for providing the Holiday Dinner held up at the Club House. We try not to miss this yearly event. Our Parkwood Team Dale, Bethany and Steve along with the help of a few of our friends and
neighbors did a fantastic job. It may have been a part of their job, but we could tell that it was planned, organized and carried thru with the caring and love from their hearts. The food was great (better than any cater could do) and so much of it. The club house is decorated so beautifully. My favorite part was waiting to see it your name would be drawn to win one of the many baskets or gift cards. The day was just prefect being filled with positive
energy, seeing our old friends and neighbors and getting to know our neighbors. We are looking forward to future activities that are being planned for our community in 2017. Jon you can be very proud of Our Parkwood Team.
Thank you again.
This time of year we hear the children's story of 'The
Grinch Who Stole Christmas', so well characterizing
people who are preoccupied with spreading hate and
discontent. But then we see the holiday efforts of the
dozens of residents in Parkwood who all year are
engaged in spreading smiles and happiness. The
Christmas dinner and party was one obvious result,
supported financially and administratively by
Parkwood management, with the great turkey dinner,
desserts, cookies for everyone and over two dozen
door prizes. Notable were the decorations, hand made
greeting card boxes holding candies, and the hand
made mini-stockings with the gift card prizes, thanks to
Joy Barrett our delightful coordinator and master of
ceremonies. Sixty or so residents chose to attend this
one more great occasion to socialize with our
neighbors. Thank you all who volunteered to create
this event. We just love living in Parkwood!

Book Group in Parkwood! Do you love to read and share in discussions about books with others?
Would you be interested in joining a monthly Book Group meeting at
our Clubhouse? Book Group formats are varied but usually the group
decides ahead of time on a book, everyone reads that book, then all
come together to discuss (with snacks or dessert???).
If you're interested, please email or call or drop by, Katie Yeager,
