The Big IdeaIf Jesus hadn’t been born, the end of my rope would

be the end of my hope.


First Point

We will all reach the end of our rope… at some time or another.


The end of my rope is…

a desperate place for me to be.


Mark 920 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.


Mark 921 And Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.


Mark 922 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”


Mark 923 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

Mark 435 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.”


Mark 436 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.


Mark 437 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.


Mark 438 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”


Second Point

The end of your rope is a powerful opportunity to reach out to Jesus.


Luke 843 And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone.


Luke 844 She came up behind him and

touched the fringe of his garment, and immediately her discharge of blood ceased.


Luke 845 And Jesus said, “Who was it

that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!”


Luke 846 But Jesus said, “Someone

touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me.”

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.


Luke 848 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”


When you reach the end of your rope you will find the hem of His

garment.


He Giveth More Grace

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,


When we reach the end of our hoarded resources

Our Father’s full giving is only begun.


His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,

His power no boundary known unto men;

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus

He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
