Summer 2013, Issue #1 How to Use a Camera By Talaila Allen Today, we learned how to use a camera. We learned how to keep the camera safe by putting the strap around your wrist. If you don’t put the strap around your wrist and someone comes running by, and you don’t see them, it could fall out of your hand and break. And another thing is that if you don’t take more than one photo and go try to print out a picture it is not going to be the perfect picture because someone is going to blink, move or get out of pose. So you have to take more than one picture. Another thing about a camera is to have the picture perfect, you have to have the contrast right because if you have black hair and have a black background, then you won’t be able to see (the outline of) your hair. If you don’t have black, and (you) have blonde hair, you would be able to see your hair. Also, you have to make sure that your thumb is not in the way of your shot because you’ll take plenty of pictures of your thumb. - (June 12, 2013) Dr. Fears said that she cooked a nice family dinner for Father’s Day. How to Use a Camera

By Talaila Allen

Today, we learned how to use a camera.

- (June 12, 2013)

--Thank you for what you have taught us at ASU and it was awesome and fun and I had a great time. – Sincerely, Makaiya Brown, 7th grade

--Thank you so much for letting us see all the really cool things and different there it was fun. – Sincerely, Danasha Freeman, 4th grade

--Thank you for showing us around. I would like to come back and see more things. I would love to see you all in action. Thank you for letting us take this field trip. I love it when I went on the green screen. I liked the whole trip from the beginning to the end. The trip is the best trip the CYM reporters had in Journalism. – Sincerely, Kianna L. Hardaway, 6th grade

--Thank you for everything you showed us. All of it was amazing. I had such a fun time. Thank you for letting us come out there and have a great time. I hope we can come out there again. – Sincerely, Kei’Aura Daejanay Adams, 6th grade

--Thank you, Mr. Ernie, for teaching us about how to use a camera and to take pictures (from) different angles. Thank you, Mr. Eddie, for teaching us about the T. V. and stuff. Thank you, Mr. Maloch, for teaching us about the print shop. – Sincerely, Masharia Ashantii Smith, 5th grade

--Thank you for showing us the machines, the big screen, and the computer and to show us lots of great things in there. The machines were amazing. They were printing and they were coming off of the printer into boxes, in stacks, but in rows. The computer was amazing because some of the computers were different and some were not, and they were so cool. The big (TV) screen was cool because it was showing a lot of detail. It showed us a lot. They let us go in the big screen, and they told us to point to Arkansas because the green would make it disappear so we went (on screen) by grades taking turns. – Sincerely, Cindy Robles, 4th grade

What  My  Father  Means  to  Me

By Danasha Freeman

My father takes care of me, and he makes sure I’m healthy. He helps me with my problems at school, and he drives me to school. My father is so nice and he means a lot to me. I’m glad to have him as a father. He loves me so much, and I love him the same. Maybe (I love him) a bit more. Awesome! -‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐-‐By Cindy Robles

Fathers Day means that he deserves a break because he has done a lot of work. Fathers Day is about celebrating like cooking food, helping, washing and doing dishes so he can feel great and doesn’t have to do everything. He should do whatever he wants to do because it is his day to watch television or eat because all fathers deserve to have a good time and not be rushed. Don’t just let him do all the work. Also never try to make him mad because it is his day to do whatever he wants to do.
