Introduction

The objectives of this document are to help newcomers understand the Oil and Gas industry in general and the basic flow of creation of Master data - Cost center, Customer, Business Associate. Terms in italics are specific to this industry.

Any team members of SAP IS-Oil and Gas project

SAP IS-Oil and Gas Master Data Creation There are 3 key master data setups that facilitate the processing of IS-OIL PRA:

1. Cost Centers

2. Customers

3. Business Associates

1.1. Cost Center Creation

Core Cost center: In Core cost center, we link a venture and an equity type to a cost center. This is done because in core we link cost center with transaction and then this is used to obtain a JVA.

Cost center is an organizational unit within a controlling area that represents a defined; location of cost insurance. Within PRA, a single venture / DOI can be linked to one cost center at a point in time; however a cost center can be associated with multiple ventures.

Menu Path:

SAP Menu -> Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost Center Accounting -> Cost Center -> Individual Processing

Enter a user defined cost center and date form which customer is effective and valid:

1.2. Create Customers Master Data:

Customers are generally marketing representatives, transporters or operators. To create customers, go to transaction code XD01 or follow the menu path:

SAP Standard Menu -> Logistics-> Sales and Distribution -> Master data -> Business partners -> Customers -> Create-> Complete

First create the customer for Gas Network Transporter:

Choose Sales Area Data to define Pricing procedure:

Select PRA Customer Pricing and save it.

Now create a customer for Gas Network Gas-Sold to.

Similarly create customers for Gas Network “Gas marketing Rep” and “Gas Network Operator”.

After setting up PRA master data, we are now ready to set up PRA Ownership data. To do this, we must go into the "Ownership" area of the SAP Easy Access menu. PRA Owners are SAP vendors. Business Associates are defined to include PRA specific information and are extensions of a previously created vendor master.

1.3. Create BA (Business Associates) Master Data:

Business associates can be used in Ownership, Revenue distribution, Journal entry, check input and tax applications.BA type describes the relationship of the company with Business associate. It is important to note that Business Associate master record is integrated with SAP core vendor master maintenance.

Double click on "Business Associate" and Select "Create" button:

Go to "Link BA to a Master Record" Tab. Select the check box of "Assign existing Customer to this BA". Enter customer and Click on "Assign":

Choose "Save".
