5 Romanian Bundles of Joy
Romania is to some an unknown land they have never heard of, but to others, a treasure chest full of
surprises, ready to charm you at every corner. To get the full taste of this promising mystery land, you
must first set foot in Romania and experience some of its most popular treats.
1.
One of the greatest assets Romania has to offer is the nature and the untainted landscapes,
worthy competitors for the title of The most beautiful scenery in the world. The connection
with nature is well preserved here, especially in the rural areas, where men live in perfect
harmony with the flora and fauna. The country boasts itself with all varieties of natural
environments, from the breathtaking Carpathian Mountains, to the vast Black Sea and the
mysterious Danube Delta.
2.
Once in Romania, it is difficult not to notice the strong presence of Christian edifices, but also
their beauty and the elaborate architectural manner in which they are built and painted. The
beauty and serenity of the northern Moldavian monasteries are most likely to leave a strongimpression on each visitor and to create an exquisite spiritual experience that will enchant the
travelers soul.
3.
Romanian is a country that has successfully managed to preserve its beautiful traditions,
another aspect of this country which shouldnt be missed. The perfect times to best experience
these practices are Christmas and the New Years Eve, when tradition intertwines with the
modern present, creating a beautiful, heart-warming combination of old and new, maintaining,
at the same time, the essence of ancestral tradition.
4.
Another aspect for which Romania has become increasingly known is the wide variety of wines it
produces. Although many people may not know it, Romania is actually one of the largest wine
producers in the world and has one of the oldest traditions in wine making. In 2008, Romania
was the twelfth largest wine producing country in the world and, in 2009, the eleventh largest
(Source: "Wine production (tons)". Food and Agriculture Organization. p. 28.).
5.
Last, but not least, Romania guarantees an amazing culinary experience that promises to
enchant the taste buds of the pickiest gourmands. The taste of the traditional sarmale
(cabbage rolls with minced meat) with a side of polenta and fresh, home-made sour cream is a
must try experience once you reach Romanian grounds.
Apart from the wonderful things mentioned above, Romania has many more to offer and it is a country
worth exploring, which will not disappoint you and may even surpass your expectations if given a
chance.
