Startup WISP: Stand-alone management

A small start-up WISP with a single tower site can implement the EZ-50, EZ-150 or EZ-600 Subscriber Controller, determined by the numbers of subscribers to be provisioned from one tower. The easyWISP Subscriber Controller can be managed locally at the tower site, or remotely via the Internet. easyWISP implementation cost starts at less than five hundred dollars.

Single radio site: up to 50 subscribers Network architecture for a small WISP with a single tower. A single easyWISP EZ-50 subscriber controller manages up to 50 subscribers provisioned from a single radio on one tower.

Triple radio site: up to 150 subscribers Network architecture for a small WISP with a single tower. A single easyWISP EZ-150 subscriber controller manages up to 150 subscribers provisioned from three radios installed on one tower. Dual WAN provides load balance and fail-over to improve site reliability

Multiple radio site: up to 600 subscribers Network architecture for a small WISP with multiple radios located on a single tower, or multiple towers in one location. WISP Subscriber and Network Management…. all in one box

As the WISP's subscriber base grows the WISP will begin operating with multiple towers. Subscriber management will also necessitate the addition of Web base features like subscriber access to the account, subscriber support request and field access to work orders. Multiple Subscriber Gateways can be managed with the easyWISP EZ-Cloud service which also facilitates remote management and monitoring of the network components. This is shown in the diagram above.

The EZ-Cloud is a very low cost approach to building out the WISP's network. easyWISP Subscriber Gateway's use a polling/tunnel method to access the EZ-Cloud and eliminate open ports that might be a security risk. However the WISP can improve security by building a private network that is firewalled from the Internet and installing the EZ-Server inside the private network, as shown in the diagram below.

All easyWISP products are robust and manufactured to commercial grade specifications. The products are suitable for installation in any network equipment environment where the temperature does not exceed 95 degF. (35 degC). EasyWISP products use high capacity SSD storage with read/write algorithms that extend the life of the SSD. Subscriber Gateway products do not impose subscriber limits, the recommended maximum number of subscribers is based on the processor performance and memory.
