Because the schools and community centers offer internet access to the the public -- most of whom do not even own
a computer -- broadband internet access is
provided to hundreds of people who would not
otherwise have it.
One interesting side-effect of our urban environment is that the Café location, for example, gives us wire
line access to ~30 additional apartments via outdoor ethernet
wiring in the alley behind the buildings
