Since 2004, the lack of help from government to help the Malay Muslim resolve their distress
Insurgency took place in the southern area but mostly Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat were badly affected
Latest insurgency happens in 28 April 2004 but conflicts have been going on for 100 over years
As of March 2008, more than 3000 people have lost their lives
Accusation and cruel treatment by the police
Disrespectful of Malay Muslims religion
Businesses such as bar, drug trafficking etc are available which are insensitive because it is against Muslims’ cultures and religion
Government Overpowering– Shifting in political power towards and overtly conservative and
authoritarian elements.– Using direct force rather than to seek a negotiated political
settlement to the conflict – Bias in the social system such as in Public school, Work
employment area.
Government– Schools and anything that is associated such as the principle,
teacher & student suffered.– Government worker are targeted for assassination. – Law enforcers such as the police and soldier sometimes make
indiscriminate action that greatly affect that result in civilian collateral damage.
Different Religion– Buddhist that is living in the southern part of Thailand also
suffered where the insurgent operate– Estimated 500 attacks resulting in more than 300 deaths in the
four southern provinces– Even the occupant in the southern (majority Muslim) suffered
due to the conflict .

– National day in Singapore is a celebration of “One United People” that has co-existent from difference races & cultures
THAILAND– Government school
are biased to Buddhist culture
– Thai-Muslim are force to live in the southern area of Thailand
– Thailand national day is a celebration of their country birth but it does not promote difference races and cultures
Education– Nurturing the young's to work/play together will help better the
relationship for the future– Encourage everyone to take up a 3rd mother-tongue that
reflects our diversity culture and better our communication.– Learn about our cultural history– Singaporean will be able to think rationally if an upset in racial
harmony triggers
Events– Hosting party that welcome diversity of races to enjoy.– Experiences could help in understanding of other cultures.
Work Place– Equal job opportunity, as acceptance is based on overall
qualification – Plan office outing to promote bonding with colleague and
improve communication
Education– Some children may be force or “brain-wash” by their parent to
not mix with different culture as traditional stereo-type still exist
– Some children may not be able to cope with the 3rd language as only during the school hours that they are able to “use”.
– Children may not be interested and thus lose focus
Events– Intention/unintentional discrimination might happen and is un
avoided but the only way to overcome is by educating and instilling the right moral.
Work Place– Employer still focuses on the mandarin language– Employee may still have grudge/ trauma/ taught from family
regarding racism – Employee never communicate with another culture before let
alone working for a common goal in a work place.
