Many of our schools are finding that iPad or mini iPads can be used to support learning. Many teachers are discover-

ing apps which they can use in the classroom.

The apps described here are those which we have used or

observed being used in schools.

The use of an iPad to motivate reluctant learners is well documented. There is also good evidence which shows apps being used to support learners with diverse addition-

al support needs.

This issue focuses on the support which apps can give to all learners . There is a universal appeal in using this technology and here we outline good quality apps which can be tapped into. A fuller list of apps can be seen on
