INNO-WISEs Newsletter 2

The first work package within INNO-WISEs project has been successfully

accomplished The project analysed the social enterprise context in the involved

regions and the other countries of Central Europa area proposing a comparative

analysis The result of these analyses is a Regional Joint Strategy (RJS) which

identifies the main shortages of WISEs and the main priorities to address in order to

improve their skills and competences and solve the common territorial challenges

The RJS defines two transversal issues entrepreneurial spirit knowledge of

technologies and tools Moreover the context analysis has provided a method

which enables social enterprises to identify the required knowledge level to fill the

emerged shortages The project is now working on designing the framework of the

competences empowerment the ICT tools required for the ICT platform which will

detail the main functional areas for each process and service identified The

involvement of social enterprises has been a key factor to define the objectives to

reach and to understand WISEsrsquo needs Most of them expressed their desire to

pursue this collaboration in order to test the future platform and training

programme

The second project coordination teammeeting was held after a year ofprojectrsquos implementation in Zagreb

From the 11th to the 12th of June theproject partner from Croatia Institute ofSocial Sciences Ivo Pilar hosted theevent This meeting was the opportunityto review the last achievements of theproject and the next steps of itsimplementation in the next months Onthe first day SASS presented the resultsthe deliverables and the outputsachieved in the framework of the contextanalysis and the research activitiesThen project partners exchanged on the

On the 12th ndash 14th of September FilipMajetić and Dražen Šimleša from theInstitute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar (IPI)one of INNO-WISEs Croatian partner tookpart in the Social Enterprise World Forum2018 During this World Forum parallelsession was organised on several topicssuch as researching social enterprise Inthe framework of one of those sessionsIPI presented management practiceswithin Work Integration Social Enterprises(WISEs) in Croatia




Regional Joint Strategy and some issuescame out regarding the kind of ICT toolsand the platform that the partners wantto develop while taking account of theWISEs needs and each region reality Allproject partners agree on the fact thatthe main project purpose is to improveWISEsrsquo skills Later that day FPM exposedthree main issues within the frameworkof technological and managementknowledge model for WISEs The firstissue was the process and services thatwill be supported by the platform Thesecond one was to define WISEscompetences and their roles in amanagerial and operational level Finallythe last issue discussed was thearchitectural model for the ITC platformAfterwards the partners split in workinggroups to exchange on these issues Atthe end of the day ITC explained theworking methodology relevantmethodological guidelines of pilot actionsto involve WISEs in testing it theplatformrsquos structure in order to definethe platform content The projectpartners all agree with the fact that theplatform should be attractivesustainable and useful for the WISEsDuring the second day ACT Grupa talkedabout the implementation of the trainingwithin INNO-WISEs project and the realpossibility to involve WISEs in the projectregions

In July CGM held a meeting withseveral WISEs candidates for thepilot project in the Lombardyregion The progress of the workwas shared and the process ofcollaboration that will continue inthe next months was consolidated

The 29th May MONG hosted an importantevent aiming at fostering social economyin Northern Primorska the Slovenianborder region with Italy This meetinggathered Slovenian representatives ofpublic business and social economysectors in Nova Gorica in order to meetSlovenian WISEs and let them presenttheir business sector and discuss aboutthe related development challenges

On the 17th of April project partners FPMand CGM went to Florence in order topresent INNO-WISEs SEMPRE projectinvited them to present the projectduring a study visit in Florence This wasa good opportunity to meet other Italiansocial enterprises to discover theSEMPRE project and to know more aboutINNO-WISEs similar project During thismeeting SEMPREs partner from InterregBaltic Sea came to Italy to meet Italianexperiences and our project

In March Municipality of Nova Gorica andSchool of Advanced Social Studies inSlovenia met local WISEs that wereinvolved in the analysis of technologicaland skills shortages to express what theyexpect to receive from the localsupporting environment What WISEspointed out was Public procurementshould be more oriented towards theacquisition of social economy goods andservices the lack of promotion of thesocial economy sector networking withthe business sector supporting socialeconomy community building legislativesupport and the provision of informationon available financial resources
