NorWestCo-opwasexcitedtohostaVolunteerAppreciationDinneratourCommunityFoodCentre.Withcertificatesinhand,volunteersposedforthephotobooth.Volunteerssharedawonderfulmeal,receivedgifts,enjoyedathankyouvideofromNorWeststaffandwereserenadedbyNorWestImmigrantSettlementWorker,PonzMapuyan.Theeveningwasalsoatimeforvolunteerstomakeconnectionsandvisitwitheachother.InthewordsofMarciaNuytten,anAccessNorWestVolunteerVisitorGuide;“Volun-teerAppreciationnightwasanabsolutelygreatexperience.Idefinitelyfeltappreciated.Iwasamazedathowmanyvolunteerscameout.Iamthankfulforothervolunteers,likeLynn,whotookthetimetomakemefeelwelcomeandinvitedmetositwithher.”NorWestCo-opwouldliketotakethisopportunitytoofficiallythankallofourvolunteers;theirenergyandcommitmentensurethatNorWestcontinuestoprovidethehighestqualityofprogramsandservicestotheInkstercommunityandbeyond.About182NorWestvolunteerscontributedover8,900hoursinthelastyear.

HANSKAIparticipantsattenda9weekhealthschoolthatcoverstopicslikehealthyeating,mealplan-ning,managingstress,physicalactivity,generalhealthandmore!OncethehealthSchooliscomplete,groupscontinuetomeetandcon-ductself-healthchecksincludingbloodpressure,engageinphysicalactivity,enjoyhealthysnacks,andhavetimetosocialize.
