From Monday to Saturday, our buses will take you from Villach right around Lake Ossiach and Lake Faak or from the lake into town, four times per day. Special moments are even better if you can share them with others: the view over Carinthia from the top of a mountain, a sunset by the turquoise blue Lake Faak, a blossoming meadow full of gladiolas, a walk through Villach’s history… the Erlebnis CARD offers you a huge variety of opportunities for enjoying magical moments as our guest in the heart of Carinthia. In total, there are more than 600 things to do, which were put together by our hiking, nature, city, and cycling guides and storytellers. The result is not just quality time spent together, but also special encounters and sometimes very special insights into the region which they call home. The programme goes from 29th April all the way to 3rd November, beginning with the FRÜHLINGSFIT (spring fitness) programme, which apart from pleasant temperatures also offers attractive events for leisure sports enthusiasts and ambitious cyclists, continuing on to the SOMMERAKTIV (summer active) programme with even more activities and finally ending with the wonderful HERBSTGENUSS (autumn indulgence) programme.

How do I get an Erlebnis CARD? You are going to receive the Erlebnis CARD from all participating hosts in the region Villach – Lake Faak – Lake Ossiach after your arrival and registration. Children born after 2002 do not need their own Erlebnis CARD (exception: when also using a Kärnten Card) and can take part in the activities in company of an adult with a valid Erlebnis CARD.

Is it free to take part in the programme? Participation in the programme is free of charge. Only for the spirituell hike (free if you have the Kärnten Card), the hike “The lord of the castle – all around castle Landskron”, charges may apply (toll road, € 3.50 per car), and for the KärntenTherme kids and teens special, entry will be charged for adults.

There is an additional 10% discount if you hire an electric bike with the Erlebnis CARD at our partner company „Kärnten rent e bike“. You can find the various hire points of „Kärnten rent e bike“ on www.kaernten-rent-ebike.at.

Do I have to register for the activities? For some activities, you will need to register in advance due to limited participant numbers. You should register before midday on the day before. The programme description will mention whether registration is necessary. You can register at your host or via telephone (+43 664 1334146).

Book your Kärnten Card on your Erlebnis CARD Some of the participating hosts can upgrade your Erlebnis CARD and book the Kärnten Card from them. This way, toll roads, cable railways and many more services can be used for free! The current prices for the Kärnten Card can be found at the bottom of the next page.

What else do I have to know? Servcises of Erlebnis CARD have no validity for school classes. Please show your Erlebnis CARD to the guide at the beginning of the activity. You take part in all activities at your own risk and parents are liable for their children. For all sporting activities, please make sure you have appropriate footwear, outdoor clothing, food, sunscreen or other weather protection with you. For bike trips, you will need to bring your own bicycle and relevant equipment. You can get information and contacts for bicycle and e-bike rental stations at all tourist information offices. Some of the tours are across borders, so please bring along a valid passport. Slight changes in time and short-term changes are possible. In case of bad weather, please contact the local tourist information or +43 664 1334146, as changes due to weather might apply. Our Bicycle Buses will take you from the Lakes Faaker See and Ossiach to the starting point of each cycle or hiking tour. In the buses you will receive a map of the route including a description. And then you can start: From Spittal an der Drau or the Rosental along family friendly and scenic stages of the Drau Cycle Path, along the river back to Villach. From Tarvisio in Italy or Kranjska Gora in Slovenia (remember – take your passport!) the route will take you back to Villach. If you would like to spend the day hiking or cycling in Kranjska Gora or Tarvisio, you can catch the new 3L-Excursion bus which runs Wednesdays and will take you back to Villach. You must book your seat.
