Execution of Subsea Compressors Why are we going subsea?
Subsea is economical:
• Oil & gas fields being discovered in deeper, more remote place
• Gas fields require boosting of the reservoir flow as reservoir pressure depletes
• Higher field exploitation rate, higher production.
• Advantageous to place the compressor close to the well.
• Lower energy requirement than with conventional production.
• More economical in acquisition and operation. Subsea gas compression replaces the need for an offshore platform or onshore compression facility
• Development of smaller fields becomes more economical (addition to existing top-sea infrastructure).
• Modular, adaptive production methods.
Subsea enables to venture into new regions:
• Arctic regions.
• Installations protected of hurricanes and other harmful influences.
