Editorial

It is a privilege to be the District Editor and work for linking all

clubs of Inner Wheel District 313 through this E-Bulletin “Inner Link”. My predecessors have done a great job; I too will try to

do my bit as a District Editor with a sense of responsibility!

We, the Inner Wheel members have been working in 103 different

countries in unison; although we are from geographically diverse

locations, belonging to various cultures, backgrounds and beliefs.

The bond that weaves us together is this largest women’s social

organization “International Inner Wheel”. Under the umbrella of

the IIW, we work towards a common goal of Friendship & Service.

I seek cooperation from all club presidents and editors for year

2016-17 to bring out an e-Bulletin each month and District

Conference Souvenir in January 2017.

Let us enjoy Inner Wheel as our Association President Prabha

Dear Friends,

It is that time of the Year again when the wheel turns full circle and a new Inner Wheel Year

begins, with new leaders at the helm – their minds brimming with new ideas and new hopes.

I take this opportunity, on behalf of the members of District 313 , to welcome our dear

Association President Prabha Raghunandan to our 32nd District Assembly – The Assembly of

Good Thoughts – ‘MANASHNI’ Thoughts are the precursors to words and thence to actions. If we have good thoughts, we

will speak kind words and perform good deeds. That will exactly be the way we can implement

the theme of our new International Inner Wheel President OluyemisiAlatise – TOUCH A

HEART

Our emphasis in the coming year will therefore be on Personal Service and Inter personal

relationships; on small acts of kindness and understanding; to wipe tears and lend a shoulder to

lean on; to be kind to our animal friends and our environment ; to light the lamp of knowledge

and to Touch Hearts so that Inner Wheel may find a lasting place in people’s hearts. I congratulate our new District Editor MuktiPanse on bringing out her first Bulletin “ INNER LINK” to coincide with the start of the new Inner Wheel Year ! Please consider it as a forum for exchanging Good Thoughts and Ideas. We shall look forward to receiving your suggestions and

inputs so that it can be made both informative and interesting and act as a Link between all the

Clubs in our District and also with other Districts in our Association of Inner Wheel.

Message from IIW President Oluyemisi Alatise

This year’s theme is taken from our second objective “to encourage the ideals of personal service”.

Touch a Heart, gives birth to kindness, being generous with your time, money, resources and

willingness to help. Your true wealth is the good you do in the world. Be kind to earth, honour the idea

of global community, that we are each other’s keepers, ensuring safety, security, comfort, wellness, duty, and peace. Be kind to yourself. Take care of your body by eating well. It goes to the heart. Be

kind with your words. Words spoken are like a broken egg. You cannot park them back. Be careful

your words do not hurt your heart and the heart of others around you.

Touch a Heart applies to your relationship with other people, animals, plants and the earth. It may be

offering of helping hand, patiently waiting your turn, returning a phone call or favour, or even

cheerfully responding with a smile. You can touch a heart by listening, not necessarily giving advice,

just listening to someone pouring emotions out with patience. Giving someone a pat on the back, a

warm hug when there is no one to acknowledge can give the courage to move a mountain. A wink of

an eye that means you can do it..

Touch a Heart through the way your treat your environment, the trees are our lungs, the rivers our

bloodstream, they are all interconnected and what you do to your environment you do to yourself.

Kindness in the way we handle our environment. The oxygen we breathe works through our lungs and

fuels our blood through our heart.

We can give compassion through “Touch a Heart”, an essential part of our life. The smile expressed by the recipient of your kindness is an experience more powerful than words. To become acquitted

with touching a heart, one must be prepared to learn new things and feel new feelings.

Touch a Heart is more than a philosophy of the mind,; it is a philosophy of the Spirit.

Dear friends,

Its a pleasure to greet you District Chairman. Dinaz Tarapore and members of District 313

through this newsletter. I congratulate each of you for the wonderful work you have done in the last

year to fulfill the objectives of Friendship and Service.

Anything that grows, gives life , gives energy is a flow, air, water, blood, current! I believe we

are all small currents in the flow of Inner Wheel and all of us jointly can produce electrifying

results to improve our country.

Friends ENJOY Inner Wheel. Inner Wheel is your platform for improving yourself,

for making friends. This platform gives you an opportunity to serve your fellow beings and the

planet you live in.

N Nature needs you, do your bit.

J Joy of sports. Let's make our children healthier and happier

O Optimize your limited resources to give your society your best. Then you will improve

the image of Inner Wheel too.

Y You are the ambassador of Inner Wheel. Improve your knowledge of the

principles ,purpose people and projects of your organization.

In this way you will strengthen the organization and you will be the strength of Inner Wheel.

West Zone District Team Training Programme “PROTSAHAN

Training for District E C members was organized by Dist. 306 at Madhuban Resort,

Anand, Gujrath; on May 10, 2016. The training programme was divided in IV

sessions. The training was called to order by AP Mamta Agarwal. The session started

with a welcome note by DC Sandhya Shah of the host District 306. After opening

remarks by AP Mamta Agarwal, AP Elect Prabha Raghunandan explained the

purpose of organizing Protsahan PAP Bina Vyas highlighted the importance of

training and described qualities of a good leader. IPAP Dr. Rashmi Sharma spoke

about the importance of protocol. PAP Pushpa Suryamurthy gave a presentation on

Secretary the Lifeline of the district.

In the session II: IPAP Dr. Rashmi Spoke on Asset of District The District Treasurer;

explaining the duties of a treasurer. AP Mamta Agarwal on role of ESO, Asso,

Secretary Elect Sandhya Bhat on Fun Filled role of ISO and Asso. Treasurer elect

Mamta Gupta spoke on Writer in making District Editor.

After the lunch break AP Mamta Agarwal, and Mamta Gupta Asso. Tr. Elect spoke

on roles of AC member and DVC. AP Elect Prabha Raghunandan elaborated on the

BASICS, ENJOY and IIW theme. A fun quiz on IW was conducted by PAP Pushpa

Suryamurthy. In the last session the organizing teams were recognized, All the

deliberations during the PROTSAHAN sessions were appreciated and everybody had

a lot to take home! Thanks to the resource persons and AP Elect Prabha

Raghunandan for the wonderful training program
