Christmas season is always a very special time of the year. I love the atmosphere

of celebration, the music, the decorations, the theme of giving gifts, the candle

light services, family, and the undeniable fact that Jesus was born on earth as a

human being - - just like you and me.

My heart is filled with joy and love as I observe my four grown children and

their spouses. What amazing people they all are. There is excitement and antici-

pation on the faces of the little ones in our family. The older grandchildren are

bantering and teasing each other but with laughter and affection.

As I soak in the warmth, the security

and love of family I ponder the won-

der of wonders. THIS is why God cre-

ated us all. He wanted family. He

wanted family who could feel and

receive His love and would return it.

Just as I desire being with my family,

He desires spending time with His

family.

One of my goals for the new year is to re-

member that spending time with God is

not just for my benefit. He misses me when

I choose to get so busy with meaningless

things that I forget to stop by and visit

with Him.

our life path and to consider the direction we are taking. Many

of you may be very happy with the direction of your life. If

that is the case for you, enjoy your journey. But what if that is

not the case, what if you are not happy with the direction of

your life? What if you have never really considered where you

are headed in life? If you are taking the time to read this arti-

cle, you probably have respect for the role of God in your life,

which in my opinion is the only place to get true life direction.

jobs, businesses, clubs, church, sports and the many other

things with which we fill our lives. Not that these things are

not important, many of them are, but there is more to it than

these things. By God’s never ending power, He has provided

us with the ability to live a godly life. So I ask you: Are you at

peace, are your relationships healthy, do you walk in wisdom,

is strength a part of your everyday life, does joy fill your jour-

ney, are you confident and filled with courage? These are the

things that Jesus died to give you and me. Jesus died in order

that we might live and not that we just live, but live with life

abundant and by God’s marvelous glory and excellence.

But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He

gave the right to become children of God. Children born, not

of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but

of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We

have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father,

full of grace and truth.

We have received God’s glory (power) and grace (God’s

strength and ability) working on our behalf in this life. The

truth has been freely given to us and taking time to allow that

truth to invade every part of our lives is an amazing thing.

Consider your life, consider where you would do well to open

the door and allow the strength of God to invade your life.
