In March of 2013, PennWell acquired the Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference and entered into a conference cooperation agreement with the Geospatial Information Technology Association (GITA) to produce future events beginning with the 2013 event October 28-30, 2013 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston in Houston, Texas. The GITA Oil & Gas Pipeline Conference & Exhibition gathered the industry’s top professionals to share and exchange ideas in both our traditional operator forum and a number of dynamic panel discussions. The conference encouraged the free flow of ideas between a wide range of viewpoints. In conjunction with the conference, a larger-than-ever exhibit hall showcased equipment, technology and services vital to the oil and gas pipeline industry.

The 2013 event attracted a record 604 attendees. Forty-two exhibitors displayed their products and services on the exhibit floor.

All registered attendees were invited to attend. Chris Smith, Senior Technology Editor for the Oil & Gas Journal, kicked off the session with a welcome address and introductions. The Keynote Presentation was given by John Pinkerton, Executive Chairman of Range Resources. Mr. Pinkerton shared his insights as a senior executive of the initial company to develop the Marcellus Shale and radically change the landscape of the North American natural gas marketplace. Mr. Pinkerton serves on the executive committee of America’s Natural Gas Alliance in Washington, D.C. The Alliance is working with industry, government and customer stakeholders to ensure the continued availability of natural gas and to promote increased use of natural gas for a cleaner and more secure energy future. Mr. Pinkerton joined Range Resources in 1990 as President. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 1992 and Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2008. On January 1, 2012, Mr. Pinkerton stepped down as CEO and was appointed Executive Chairman.
